The Impossible Heir Plot Overview

In this revenge drama, Kang In-ha is the illegitimate son of Kangoh Group who has been brought up in poverty in a single-parent household. However, when he suddenly learns of his true parentage, he quickly comes up with a plan to take what is rightly his and rise to the ranks in the Kangoh Group to take over the conglomerate. In the process, he recruits his childhood friend Han Tae-oh, a cold-hearted man whose father is a murderer.

However, his plan finds a hiccup when he meets Na Hye-won, a woman who has also seen abject poverty in her life as well and has similar dreams to him – to take over Kangoh Group for herself. Facing an unknown and unmovable challenge on their path to financial stability and power, In-ha and Tae-ho have to fight tooth and nail to realise their dreams.

Actor Lee Jae-wook was last seen in Death’s Game and Alchemy of Souls. Lee Jun-young was last seen in the highly-popular Mask Girl as well as in D.P. and Let Me Be Your Knight. Lastly, Hong Su-zu’s last roles were in Sweet Home 2 and Lovestruck in the City.

In the next two episodes, we have been caught up with Tae-oh and In-ha’s backstories, how they started everything and their relationship with the ruthless Hye-won. Now that they are in Kangoh Group, it remains to be seen how they will rise up the ranks right under everyone’s noses and take over the conglomerate from the chairman. However, now that Hye-won was also cosying up to In-ha, will she take over their hard work for herself? Will the two men have to fight their way to the top not just against the chairman’s legitimate heirs but also against their cursh at one point?

The Impossible Heir Episodes 1 and 2 Recap

Tae-oh and In-ha become friends in the unlikeliest of ways – their rivalry and hatred for one another turn into friends with benefits (in a different kind of way) when they realise that they can use each other to get the money and power that they have dreamt of. However, their well-constructed plan finds a wrench thrown into it when Na Hye-won, a woman who is also suffering at the hands of poverty and an abusive mother, takes interest in the two men and tries to take their help to leave her tough life behind.

When Tae-oh refuses to help her, she takes In-ha’s hand but not before they both realise that they are attracted to each other but must give up on their relationship in order to reach their dreams.

The Impossible Heir is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
