While there are amazing shows coming to Max by HBO and Discovery, the one series on everyone’s mind right now is The Idol. Created and directed by the Euphoria showrunner Sam Levinson, this series stars Lily-Rose Depp, Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jennie Ruby Jane, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Joy Randolph and Hank Azaria alongside other cast members. The series follows a pop-star’s declining popularity and her coping mechanisms following this dark and tumultuous period.
In the video, we see BLACKPINK Jennie talk about her experiences at Cannes, where she was invited for the first time. This debut appearance had her featured on the red carpet as well as multiple screenings throughout the festival, especially those that featured movies from her Korean counterparts. She shares how exciting and overwhelming it was, but she had lots of fun at the festival. When asked about being a pop star, she already had an answer on hand.

Explaining that perseverance and determination are important aspects of being a pop star, she also delves into the dancing aspect of her job. Here, she talks about how she often had to learn dance choreography at the last moment but practice with these kinds of situations has given her the ability to handle all the changes. Consistency is important for the artist, so the one thing she carries everywhere is her own pillow. Nothing like sleeping in the bed you make.
Speaking about her experience in working with Lily-Rose Depp, she talks about their bond even before this show. She says that she was always excited to work with someone she has known for so long and calls her a superstar; she concludes by saying that she has been very lucky to work with her. However, the video still hasn’t ended because the interviewer amazingly waited to ask the best question for last. After being asked what she wants people to know about her, Jennie responds cryptically, sharing that this project is just the beginning for her.
