The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Teaser Trailer: Welcome Back to the Games!

It is no surprise that we have all missed the Hunger Games universe. Well, looks like the wait to be invited once again to games is finally over as The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes teaser trailer just dropped during the MTV Movie and TV Awards 2022 and, it has left fans swimming in delight. Serving as the prequel as well as a spin-off to the existing Hunger Games trilogy that starred Jennifer Lawrence, this upcoming film will offer us a new tribute and her individual struggles as she tries to survive through one life-changing competition.

The entire cast for this upcoming release has not been revealed yet but, West Side Story famed Rachel Zelger is set to star in the role of the protagonist Lucy Gray. Along with dropping the first teaser trailer for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the release date for the film was also revealed.

The YouTube description for the teaser trailer reads: “Years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), the girl tribute from impoverished District 12.”

The description further reads: “But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favour. Uniting their instincts for showmanship and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy Gray’s race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird, and who is a snake.”

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 17, 2023. Meanwhile, you can watch the Hunger Games trilogy now on Amazon Prime Video.
