After all the bewildering DCU slate discussions, March 17 is dedicated to David F Sandberg’s superhero sequel. Shazam Fury of the Gods Twitter reactions have been spilt on the platform and have once again divided critics’ opinions from that of the audience.
Based on the titular DC Comics character, the American superhero film has been produced by New Line Cinema, DC Studios and the Safran Company. Further, distributed by Warner Bros Pictures, it serves as the sequel to the 2019 release starring Zachary Levi and Asher Angel in the leading role of the same character, both of who have come back to reprise their roles again.
The movie, written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, also stars Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou and Helen Mirren. Even the critics seemed to be divided on their takes on this film, but at large, their reception has dismissed yet another live-action superhero adaptation.
Countering that opinion, fans have rolled up to the cinemas to enjoy their on-screen encounters with the loving and wholesome character, which packs more of a comedy punch this time. The official TV spot already spoiled a special cameo featuring another fellow superhero in the film before the premiere. The fans wish there were a way to reverse this action.
Other than that, viewers have mostly loved today’s release and enjoyed their time at the theatres, and even compared the family vibe employed by the action flick to that of the Fast and Furious franchise, that’s taken on the family name as its representative identity. n the other hand, many audiences have also proclaimed it an average classic superhero movie that we already have enough of. Taking an opposite stance, fans of the character have additionally declared that to be Shazam‘s winning quality, making for an enjoyable ride.

Even among the audience, there is a division in their perspectives for either liking the film or not seeing it sufficient to carry forth the hero’s storyline. In addition to that, some comparisons have been drawn between today’s premiere and the other recent comic-based movies like Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and DC’s Black Adam. If nothing else has appeased the viewers, the cast won over everyone with their sparkly camaraderie despite the huge age gap between the young and elder counterparts of the same characters.
