The Girl in the Mirror Sneak Peek: Alma Tries to Find Herself in the Dark

The Girl in the Mirror (Alma) is an upcoming Spanish teen horror drama series, which is set to be released on Netflix this month. It is directed and written by Sergio G. Sánchez, under Sospecha Films. A sneak peek of the show has been released which further unravels the suspense mystery around the protagonist.

The official synopsis of the series reads, “After losing her memory in a bizarre accident that kills most of her classmates, Alma tries to unravel what happened that day — and regain her identity.” After surviving a bus accident in which almost all her classmates die, Alma wakes up in a hospital with no memory of the incident or of her past.

Her home is full of memories that are not hers, and both amnesia and trauma cause her to experience night terrors and visions that she cannot clarify. With the help of her parents and friends, unknown to her, she will try to uncover the mystery surrounding the accident while struggling to recover her life and her identity.

In the newly released official clip, we see that Alma wakes up in the hospital, where the nurse asks her if she remembers anything. But she doesn’t even know her own name, followed by a harrowing visual of her lying on the ground, at the location of the accident. Her face is disfigured and as she recovers, she starts seeing things that aren’t visible to others.

Then we hear the dialogue that death isn’t as permanent as we think it is, there are ways to go on living. Does that hint that there’s a life after death that will be shown in the show? Is Alma haunted by her classmates who died in the accident and want to tell her something before something sinister happens?

It briefly reveals that she can see her own ghost in the mirror that leads her to dark places. Will Alma be able to figure out what really happened with everyone on the bus? Was it just an accident or something evil that was awaiting their arrival? Looking at the clip and the trailer, we can definitely sense that there’s something supernatural going on.

The cast of this horror thriller includes Mireia Oriol in the lead role of Alma, Álex Villazán, Pol Monen, Javier Morgade, Nil Cardoner, María Caballero, Claudia Roset, Milena Smit, Marta Belaustegui, Josean Bengoetxea, Kandido Uranga, Nacho Fresneda, Alejandro Serrano, Elena Irureta and Katia Borlado.
