The Essex Serpent: All About Tom Hiddleston’s Upcoming Apple TV+ Show

Tom Hiddleston last appeared in Disney+ Marvel’s Loki series. The actor made fans fall in love all over again with his acting as the God of Mischief. The actor is all set to make viewers happy with his new series, The Essex Serpent. The show’s trailer was dropped last month and left a great impression.

The show is based on Sarah Perry’s novel of the same name. The Apple TV+ show is directed by Clio Barnard and written by Anna Symon. In the show, Tom Hiddleston plays a priest named Will Ransome. The rest of the cast includes Claire Danes as Cora Seaborne, Hayley Squires as Martha, Frank Dillane as Luke Garrett, Jamael Westman as Dr George Spencer, Clémence Poésy as Stella Ransome, Dixie Egerickx as Jo Ransome, Ryan Reffell as John Ransome and Michael Jibson as Matthew Evansford.

The Essex Serpent Synopsis/Plot

The official synopsis reads, “Set in Victorian England, the series follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.”

The show brings the long-running conflict between faith and science to the forefront as passion erupts and dread and intrigue about an unknown species take hold.

The Essex Serpent Release Date, Episodes and Trailer

The show has a total of 6 episodes. The first two episodes will release on May 13 on Apple TV+. A new episode will be dropped every Friday on the digital platform.
