The Club Season 2: When and Where to Watch the Turkish Period Drama Sequel?

Also known as Kulup, The Club Season 2 is all set to return to our small screens after making huge numbers last year with the premier season of the Turkish historical drama series that first streamed in 2021. Telling us the tales of women and their lives, all decked up by the extravagance of the nightclubs and Istanbul in a bygone era, the show also brings into picture the Second World War, and how this arduous historical event changed the lives of every single person involved in the lot. It has been highly praised for the genuine representation of Jewish rituals, Ladino language, the capital tax levied on non-Muslim citizens in Turkey, and other taboo topics.

The Club Season 2 Plot / Storyline

Set in the cosmopolitan 1950s Istanbul, The Club Netflix series’ sequel instalment will be a follow-up to the first that was divided into the two parts. The soon-too-release season will brings its focus back to mother whose troubled past leads her to work at a nightclub in order to find a connection with her rebellious estranged daughter she couldn’t raise.

The first season mostly centred around the character of Matilda, but now the next season releasing this week will shift its narrative lens to Rasel, her daughter’s story, who in turn is bringing up her daughter at the Club Istanbul. In the new trailer as well, Rasel addresses the issue of how her daughter’s childhood reminds her of her own. Although her young girl is surrounded by numerous people all around her in the club, the one most pivotal figure of a child’s life is missing from her daughter’s chapter – her father.

However, even the one last place that offered these women comfort and shelter is now on the verge of being shut down due to the toll taken by tax fines. New dangers and fears arise this season. How will these characters settled in the reality of a period drama find an out? To find out more, tune into the show releasing soon!
