The Beginning After the End Episode 6 Recap

The episode begins with Arthur experiencing a disturbing nightmare involving a shadowy figure, which he suspects represents his anxiety. Fortunately, before the dream can escalate, Tessia wakes him up, and the two set off on a journey accompanied by her grandfather, Virion. Tessia’s father clearly disapproves of Virion’s decision to keep Arthur around but is unable to override his father’s choice.
Virion is taking Arthur and Tessia to visit an old friend, a sorcerer named Rinia. The purpose of the visit is crucial, Rinia has the ability to help Arthur reach out to his parents. She succeeds in establishing contact and assures them that Arthur is safe and intends to return home, though it may take some time.

Arthur realizes that in order to heal and grow stronger, he must remain under Virion’s guidance as his apprentice. This marks the beginning of Arthur’s new chapter in the Elf kingdom. While the royal family welcomes him warmly, many other elves remain wary of his presence.
The story takes an interesting turn when Arthur and Tessia head outside to play. There, an elf child tries to provoke Arthur and eventually challenges him to a duel in front of a crowd. Arthur effortlessly wins the fight with a single blow, reaffirming his strength.
By the end of the episode, it’s evident that Arthur and Tessia share a deep and growing bond, one that may evolve into romance.
The Beginning After the End Episode 7 Review

This episode starts with Arthur and Tessia showcased in their grownup forms, where they both are learning to be more powerful. Tessia is significantly better at handling her powers than Arthur, and she even manifests her abilities at 9 years of age. This signals that she is very talented and is a perfect fit for her role as a princess. But this does not mean Arthur lags behind, as even he is starting his training in controlling elements with Virion.
There is just one issue. The presence of a powerful presence within Arthur obstructs the activation of his true potential and also causes the chest pains that he suffered from his childhood. Here, we understand this is most probably the doing of Sylvia, the dragon who rescued him previously. Virion gets to know about this, and he strictly tells Arthur to never disclose this aspect to anyone.

On top of that, Arthur has almost completed his training, and it is finally his time to return home. This is a happy occasion as the date is earlier than expected, and he will finally see his parents, but at the same time, this means he will have to leave Tessia. But that’s not all, the egg that Sylvia gave to Arthur finally breaks, and we see a baby dragon coming out of it.
Verdict

Arthur names the dragon Sylvie, after Sylvia, and she will most probably be his familiar later in the series. The anime is going in a pretty known and obvious trajectory with hardly anything new. The animation is not something great to watch, and the plot is also slow and without any depth. This episode was again average at best.
