In this episode, we delve deeper into the enigmatic character Tessia, starting with her and Arthur stepping through a portal hidden within a tree. On the other side lies the breathtaking homeland of the elves, a place far more untouched and majestic than the human realms we’ve seen so far. The biggest surprise comes when it’s revealed that Tessia is no ordinary elf; she’s actually their Princess, and her parents are the ruling monarchs.

Despite their initial suspicion toward humans, Tessia’s parents warmly acknowledge Arthur’s efforts to protect their daughter. After a tense introduction, they welcome him and listen as Arthur recounts his battle against the slave traders. Impressed by his courage, the elves pledge to assist him in reuniting with his family. Though cautious at first, they gradually come to respect and appreciate him.

During his stay, Arthur grows closer to Tessia, who feels bittersweet about the thought of her first true friend eventually leaving. Arthur also participates in a friendly sparring match with Tessia’s grandfather, who quickly recognizes his potential. So much so, that he offers to take Arthur under his wing as an apprentice. Yet, with his parents still unaware of his survival, Arthur finds himself torn, unable to make such a life-changing decision just yet.

This episode opens up with Arthur having a nightmare where he sees a dark figure and thinks that it might be his anxiety. Thankfully, before he can suffer more, Tessia already wakes him up, and they begin their journey somewhere along with Tessia’s grandfather, Virion. Tessia’s father is not at all happy with the fact that his father wants Arthur to stay, but he cannot do anything about this matter as well.

Apparently, Virion is taking Arthur and Tess to meet a friend of his, depending on which Arthur will decide whether to leave or stay. That person is a sorcerer called Rinia, an old friend of Virion. They are there because she can help Arthur contact his parents. She successfully managed to reach them and let them know that Arthur would definitely come back to them, but it would take some time.

He needs treatment and wants to grow stronger, and that is something that will only be possible if he stays with Virion as his apprentice. Thus, Arthur’s life starts within the Elf kingdom, where only the royal family welcomes him with open hearts, as other elves are still uneasy about him.

Things take a wild turn when he goes to play with Tessia outside. Here, another elf child tries to bully Arthur, and then later suggests a duel in front of everyone. Hence, a fight begins between them, and as usual, Arthur very easily dominates the fight with only a single strike.

In this episode, it is absolutely certain that both Arthur and Tessia have formed a very precious friendship which might blossom into something else in the future.

Verdict

The Beginning After the End Episode 6 Review
The Beginning After the End Episode 6 Review: Still

Today’s episode felt very bland because it didn’t have much to offer narrative-wise. The animation of this anime is also of very low quality, so that aspect doesn’t help either. Again, this show is really not something that can make it a certified hit, and the only reason it is still popular is because of the love of the fans.
