Pixar Movies for Thanksgiving 2023
The Incredibles
A franchise-favourite, a fan-favourite, a family-favourite, one can go on and on about the impact The Incredibles (as a movie and in the form of representing family dynamics and values) has made over the years. It is one of those films that hit you differently during different phases of life because of how distinct all the characters are and how uniquely you can connect to them over the years. This superhero film written and directed by Brad Bird, is about a superhero family who hide their powers due to a government mandate and live like a normal family until fate demands their excellence and they are due to save the world. You can watch the film on Disney+ Hotstar.

Inside Out
If this 2015 film does not make you cry and reflect on life, we do not know what will. Directed by Pete Docter from a screenplay he co-wrote with Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley, this film is all about the inner world that rests within us- the mind, the emotions and how they play a quintessential role in our behaviour that ultimately determine our life choices and relationships.
With Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Richard Kind, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Kaitlyn Dias, Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan as the notable voice actors for this animated film, one can only sing praises about how beautiful this movie is. Additionally, Inside Out 2 is scheduled to arrive in 2024! Meanwhile, you can watch the first part now on Disney+ Hotstar as well as Apple TV+.
Coco
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to visit the Land of Dead? What would it mean to meet an ancestor from generations ago in this land? Well, Miguel has done it, so you don’t need to! Coco revolves around Miguel and his journey beyond to investigate and question the ways of today. Representing and respecting the Mexican culture, music and the interplay between emotions and dreams, this family film is a heart-stealer and everything you would want in a film for Thanksgiving 2023! You can find it now on Disney+ Hotstar and Apple TV+.
Soul
The afterlife and your spirit are much more real than you would want to believe and, there are more things happening there than the present you are living in. Pixar’s Soul takes you through and through these themes and delivers you with some thoughtful speculations and reflections that will give your life a whole new meaning. Another Pete Docter directorial on this list, we firmly believe this filmmaker just knows what he is doing when he is sending movies out in the open.
Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Phylicia Rashad, Donnell Rawlings, Questlove and Angela Bassett form the voice-acting cast. Check this film out now on Disney+ Hotstar.

Turning Red
A metaphor in the form of a movie- exactly what we have always wanted and Pixar’s Turning Red has delivered us with that. How cool, right? Personal and cultural change is what helps us grow, the concept that lies deep in developmental psychology and is truly a concept that intrigues everyone. Marking Domee Shi’s feature directorial debut, this is Pixar’s first film directed completely by a woman. The film stars Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, Ava Morse, Hyein Park, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Orion Lee, Wai Ching Ho, Tristan Allerick Chen, and James Hong as the main voice actors. You can watch it on Disney+ Hotstar.
Wall-E
Science fiction and romance do go hand in hand but, with the theme of doom and sustainability? Well, yes, here we are. Directed by Andrew Stanton, produced by Jim Morris, and written by Stanton and Jim Reardon, Wall-E is set in the dystopian future (which in the present scene does not seem very dystopian to us). It revolves around a robot who is responsible for cleaning the waste-covered Earth where it meets another robot and falls in love with her. Their journey together is what changes the fate of mankind forever. Watch it now on Disney+ Hotstar.
Up
Pete Docter is the director for this one too, so you know that it is going to be something special and memorable. An old grumpy widower and a young, adventurous lad come together in search of a place that would bring the former closer to his late wife. Up is an award-winning film that needs your attention ASAP! Catch it on Disney+ Hotstar.
