With Rupert Mannion having bought West Ham United, the new season of football (not the American kind) race is up and running. Nathan has gone over to Mannion’s side. He is being trained by the former’s school of cunning villainy as they hope to end at the top of the teams’ order in the English Premier League, much like the entire community anticipates. This makes things even rougher for Rebecca, the owner of AFC Richmond, as it got more personal for her to be pitted against her ex-husband.

The football community has no hopes for Richmond despite the team being promoted back into the game. Moreover, even though the head coach, Ted Lasso, who may be upbeat in front of the whole world, is questioning everything about him staying back with the team, all while reeling from the pains of his divorce.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 2 Prediction

The upcoming episode will likely show us Ted keeping calm while facing Nathan, as foreshadowed by his son’s words during the final scenes of the premiere that suggested that regardless of Nate having gone over to the other side, they can still be friends. Ted moving his leg figurine back into the Richmond field (even if leg-sized) seems like yet another hint at a possible redemption arc waiting to happen and make the ‘Nate, the Great’ great again.

But before that happens, Rebecca must set aside her inhibitions while encountering her ex-husband and new West Ham owner, Rupert Mannion, on the field. Ted has a lot of healing to do, and Keeley and Roy’s relationship may have been broken off, but it doesn’t feel like we’ve seen the end of it yet. Moreover, Trent Crimm’s new gig hasn’t been outed in the first episode, so we hope to see him surface in the second outing.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 1 Recap

Titled ‘Smells Like Mean Spirit’, the Season 3 premiere shows Nathan now in the stands beside Rupert at West Ham United, both Rebecca and Ted have a lot of opposition to work through. The latter is still struggling with his innate pain, but trying his all to stay upbeat, when yet another truth box explodes in his face – his ex-wife Michelle has started dating again. Keeley and Roy break the news of their breakup to Roy’s niece, Phoebe, and she eventually calls him out for his ‘stupid’ decision.
