Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episode 3 Reactions: Gumiho Siblings are Hailed as the “Best K-drama Brothers”; Season 2 is “Worth It”

Old and new viewers of the K-drama alike are tweeting their ecstatic Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episode 3 reactions. Starring Lee Dong-wook as Lee Yeon, Kim Bum as Lee Rang, Kim So-yeon as Ryu Hong-joo, Ryu Kyung-soo as Cheon Moo-young, and others, on May 6, 2023, the Korean fantasy drama series resumed its much-awaited journey.

Season 2, which serves as a prequel of the former season in a way, has been directed by Kang Shin-hyo and Jo Nam-hyung, written by Han Woo-ri and created by Studio Dragon. Episode 3, titled ‘Chapter3: Saetani’, premiered on May 13, 2023, and it again has the viewers cheering on the Gumiho brothers’ relationship.

Lee Dong-wook’s Lee Yeon may have found his desired happy ending with his better half, Nam Ji-ah, during the previous season of the fantasy drama series, but he’s been separated from her again upon “crash landing in the year 1938, an era of chaos”. While struggling to return to his present, he’s found some old faces from his past, who try their best to hold him back. At least one good aspect amidst all the disorder is working in his favour – the reunion with his brother Lee Rang, played by Kim Bum.

Upon being temporarily cursed, Lee Yeon loses his sight, and is blindfolded for the rest of the episode. Unable to carry out his regular daily schedules efficiently, he finds help in his brother’s assistance along the way, making room for more hilarious exchanges between the two. People who returned to watch the sequel/prequel season after falling in love with these characters in Season 1 were deeply impressed with how their dynamic has been built this time around and declared Lee Yeon and Lee Rang as the “best brothers in TV history”.

In addition to their brotherhood being one of the best obvious highlights of the show, audiences are also warming up to the new cast introductions. Kim So-yeon has already charmed everyone and started ruling over their hearts with her confidence and eye-catching fashion looks.

So far, on comparing both the K-drama seasons, the majority is loving how the second season is progressing with good casting choices, the actors’ stellar performances and even better cinematography improving the show’s visual aesthetics.

With all that said, we can’t forget the leading man. Lee Dong-wook’s Lee Yeon and his powers yet again caught the viewers’ attention in Episode 3. Despite being blindfolded, he was seen slaying his enemies left and right. Another comical instance had his fans rolling on the floor as his character revealed the top 3 things he was missing from his original life – his beloved ice cream flavour mint chocolate, Wi-fi and of course Ji-ah.
