Tagusari Bros Episode 10 Review

Did Minoru shoot the master planner behind his father’s death?
No, Minoru did not shoot Sadao because just before he could, Fumi dropped another bombshell. She told the brothers that before Mogi could kill their parents, they had most likely already been dead. Apparently, they did not move or breathe when Mogi tried to kill them. This completely shook the brothers, and even though Makoto absolutely disregarded such information, Minoru believed in it. Minoru left the place, and Makoto followed him. When Makoto questions Minoru as to why he believes such an obvious lie, Minoru stresses that something like that would mean that Mogi was not the actual culprit.
What does Makoto do after such a disclosure?
Makoto starts his own investigation, and Minoru also does the same. Minoru finds out that there is a high possibility that his parents had died of other causes. The doctor he worked with confirmed that. The brothers then have a meal together, where they chat normally. However, that is when one thing struck them. On the day the parents died, they both shared a condiment that the kids did not have. There is a high chance that the condiment had poison in it, and it killed them. They then begin an investigation surrounding that.

Did they find the poison in the condiment?
Both brothers go to their old home to find the bottle where the condiment was stored. They then take it to a lab to test it out, but Minoru discloses that nothing came out of the test. However, that is when Makoto finds out that Minoru is planning to go to Germany, and this completely shocks him. He does this because in Japan’s drug screenings, only 200 types of compounds can be checked at one time. However, in Germany, a single analysis can handle 16,000 substances. A hellbent Minoru then goes off to Germany for that.
What happens between Kudo and Makoto?
Makoto goes to tell Kudo that he will not come back anymore. She tells Makoto how she recently went to see a family who were also victims of the statute expiring. She tried to make him understand that he should forgive the murderer. She also talks about her own harrowing past and lets him know that she is trying to accept her mother. However, Makoto does not listen to her and tells her that he will not be able to drink with her anymore.

Did they manage to find out who the culprit was?
The culprit was someone very unexpected, and the mystery kept the culprit hidden very intelligently. Makoto found out about that person from the fishermen who died because that day, the deal did not go through. Someone had to perish because Makoto’s father took the gun that was supposed to be delivered. And that fisherman takes the brothers to someone who had a reason to kill both of their parents.
What worked and what did not work?

Everyone’s acting was excellent, and it kept me invested in the characters until the very end. They made their actions feel believable, which is why I never suspected the real culprit. The reveal was surprising and made for an interesting choice. That said, some parts of the story felt a little unconvincing, and the motive behind the crime was not always clear. Even so, this was an enjoyable thriller with a confusing, but ultimately satisfying ending.
