The way Season 2 ended, we all can’t wait for Sweet Home 3, especially since it’s confirmed to be released in summer 2024. Directed by Lee Eung-bok and Park So-hyeon, 스위트홈 시즌, is a Korean drama series on Netflix. The show features a stellar ensemble including Song Kang, Lee Jin-uk, Lee Si-young, Ko Min-si, Park Gyu-young, Yoo Oh-seong, Oh Jung-se, Kim Mu-yeol, Jung Jin-young, Kim Shin-rok, Chae Won-bin, Park Won-seok, Kim Shi-ah, and others.
The show has gained a dedicated fanbase eager to see the resolution of the fight between the monsters and humans. However, some viewers have expressed concerns about the recently released season. They feel that the main lead, Song Kang, had limited screen time, and there were too many subplots that extended the episode length.
The first season of Sweet Home, released in 2020, showed Cha Hyun-soo moving into a new apartment. His quiet life is soon disturbed by strange incidents that start occurring in his apartment, and throughout Korea. As people start to turn into monsters, Hyun-soo and the other residents try to survive. And the second season, released on December 1, 2023, showed that he has transformed into a monster, and the military is after him as he is the only one that can bring an end to the fight between monsters and humans. And all the survivors from all over began to live together in the baseball stadium.
Sweet Home 3 Theories
In terms of the plot, the next season seems to offer various potential directions, all diverging among the different storylines currently in development. While Season 2 felt a bit disjointed due to its long runtime and some less fleshed-out story arcs, it hinted at a convergence of these disparate threads in the upcoming season. One of the central storylines appears to revolve around Seo Yi-kyung’s daughter, a hybrid human-monster.
She possesses the extraordinary ability not only to communicate with and lead monsters but also to transform humans into obedient creatures—a power that holds an immense advantage for her. Having been secluded and branded as an enemy due to her differences, there’s a palpable sense of pent-up resentment and anger brewing within her, as indicated by her turning away from her family.

This impending turmoil might align her with Pyeon Sang-Wook, who shares a desire to eradicate humans from the world. Pyeon Sang-Wook, possessed by Ui-myeong, believes in the irreconcilable division between monsters and humans. The clash between Cha Hyun-soo, Pyeon Sang-Wook, and Seo Yi-kyung’s daughter is poised to take centre stage, with the latter character’s enigmatic nature hinting at possible revelations in the next season.
Another significant development might involve Sergeant Park’s entanglement with a young girl and a mysterious man, suggesting deliberate transformations of individuals into monsters. The facility’s overseer seems intent on harnessing these transformed beings, perhaps aiming to construct a sizable monster army for territorial dominance. The return of Lee Eun-hyuk revealed to be alive in the form of an embryo spat out in the Greenhouse apartment, hints at potential conflicts with Hyun-soo as he might transform into an evil monster.

We might also witness Lee Eun-yoo attempting to retrieve her brother, Lee Eun-hyuk, as throughout this season, much of her focus has been on searching for him. Despite his promise to return, he didn’t, and when we finally see him towards the end, there’s a possibility he might revert to being a monster devoid of human emotions. Lee Eun-yoo will likely do everything in her power to bring him back, despite his lack of humanity, drawing parallels to how Hyun-soo manages to control his own emotions.
