Super 1st Win: SEVENTEEN Leads the Competition on MBC Show Champion, More Deets Inside

Leading by example with their groundbreaking streak this comeback, SEVENTEEN now has the Super 1st win under their belt too! On the weekly music program broadcast of MBC’s Show Champion, dated May 3, 2023, the 13-member boy group formed by PLEDIS Entertainment has clinched a new triumph for their latest album and continues to chart their amazing journey ahead.

In addition, to this being their first trophy for the new comeback, it’s also their overall 54th music win. CARATs aka the group’s fans, know how to spread the word, and started trending new hashtags to celebrate the event on Twitter. The 13 member music act includes S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. For today’s edition of the music program, they became one of the Top 5 contenders for this week’s champion name.

The other nominations running for the Top 5 spots in the competition were IVE’s I Am, TEMPEST’s Dangerous, Xdinary Heroes’ Freakin’ Bad and xikers’ Rockstar. Overall points credited to a team’s quota for each week are based on the criteria of taking into account their presence at the broadcast, digital sales (Streaming + Downloads), physical sales of their album based on the Hanteo album chart, professional scores and Voting via the Idol Champ app.

Super is one of the title tracks from the group’s newest and 10th mini EP, FML. The double title track EP was released on April 24, 2023, and its other leading song is Fxck My Life. The album registered major records by becoming the most pre-ordered album in South Korean history. More than 4.5 million copies of the album have been sold over the first week of its release, as gathered from the Hanteo music album chart. By doing so, the group has left behind BTS to gain the spot of the highest record sales gained by an album to date, thereby becoming the best-selling album.
