Suchwita Episode 14 Highlights: BTS’ SUGA Asks J-Hope to Spill His Post-Discharge Plans

BTS’ SUGA is back with yet another episode of his talk show, and we are ready to break it all down in the Suchwita Episode 14 highlights. While the name is created as a portmanteau of SUGA’s (aka Yoongi) name with his lead single Daechwita from the self-titled album Agust-D, this show features him with other prominent Korean pop idols and performers. According to the artist, this series is a “chat show with a drink on the side.”

In this episode, we have a wonderful guest, someone from his own band, J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok), who had recently been unseen because of his military enlistment. However, now that he’s back, the two of them dig deep into his post-discharge plans and, specifically, what is coming next for this artist.

While SUGA has had members from BTS before, including Jimin and Jin, this will be the first time J-hope will be there. He has also made a video with Taeyang from BIGBANG and Woozi from SEVENTEEN. From the trailer for the new episode, anyone could have guessed that it was a barrel of laughs.

Suchwita Episode 14 Highlights

Working on his Album Jack in the Box

The artist shared that he had started working on the album pretty quickly after their last big tour as a band together. J-Hope started creating his own music in December 2021 and was almost done in that month. He had worked on ten tracks at the time, just like all the artists from BTS who were trying to branch solo too. The host shared how the MORE artist had paved the way for all these solo albums. Giving an opportunity to see what they could work on and what wouldn’t go over too well with the audiences.

Since this episode was shot way before J-Hope even went into military enlistment, there were some serious throwbacks, including the fact that the artist wanted to release physical copies of his album because it would give the fans something tangible to hold onto. Given that Jack in the Box (Hope Edition) is releasing soon, it is possible that the new concept images, cover art, and all this insight was for that only. The physical copy release will be welcome news for the fans.

Further Projects

When Jung Ho-seok released On the Street feat. J-Cole, he wanted to tell a larger story about dance and, more specifically, street dance. Seeing the success of his original documentary J-Hope in the Box, he decided that it would be interesting to see how people around the world interpret BTS songs and create dances that fit the culture and the country. Yoongi was impressed hearing all of this and even asked if it was going to have an OST album, to which Ho-seok all but said yes.

According to the latter, the documentary film will likely come out in 2024, which means that we should all keep our eyes peeled for something and probably some news for this coming soon. This is the plan he was speaking about completing post his discharge from the military.

Their Humble Beginnings

Even before they could debut, there were problems. The agency had no money to push them to debut and even asked all the members to move out of their current places and find something independently. Fortunately, the agency received some investment and was able to fund its debut. Since then, the team members have been working incredibly hard, coming up with choreography, production and music that sent them to the top.

Now that they are all settled, the hunger for touring still remains within the two showstoppers. As they drink and share their stories, we get to see how each of their plans is now headed towards 2025, when BTS can finally come back as a group and tour together like we all have been waiting for. The episode ends with Yoongi bringing cake for Ho-seok, as they all sing Happy Birthday. We get a glimpse of the next episode, and everyone must keep their eyes peeled because the next guest is ready to hustle Seven days a week. (It’s Jungkook)
