-Succession Season 4 Episode 2 Recap Does Contain Spoilers-
The episode starts with the Logan Roy shifting gears from Waystar Royco to his media centre, ATN, as he prepares to transform the news network into a more aggressive channel for his semi-retirement. The media mogul stamps his arrival after delivering a thundering speech to the ATN crowd, infusing them with the idea, that the Big Daddy Roy, isn’t going anywhere.
Furthermore, Logan also adds a personal interest in the ATN shift over, as he wishes Kerry to take over the anchoring slot. At first, he instructs Tom to take over the matter into his hand and look for a definite position for the specially favoured assistant. However, as Kerry’s audition tape makes its way around, Logan realizes that he might have been a little haste with the decision.
On the side of the rogue siblings, we get to see confusion, anxiety and the usual bewilderment in terms of the next step. Even though their deal with the Pierce network is in the final progression, Shiv ponders over the idea that the Matsson offer could be juiced out more. The ambitious sibling going through a tough divorce (credits to Logan) gets in touch with Sandy and Steiw to learn about the better offer.
Initially, Shiv and Roman are reluctant to the idea, and show little to no interest in even discussing it. However, when the trio engages themselves in Connor’s wedding rehearsal, they soon come around to the different aspects of the proposal. All this while constantly ignoring the rehearsal part of the wedding.

The second half of the episode traverses into some uncharted fields, as we get to see an alternative version of Logan Roy. When Connor’s wedding preparations are halted by Willa’s second thoughts, the Roy sibling finds themselves in a Karaoke house to settle down the grim mood. Moreover, the big Roy makes an unexpected appearance in the pink neon room and offers his heartfelt (or at least half dubious) apology to the kids.
Logan tries to convince the trio to not vote against the buyout deal, or force any unnecessary leverage on the rich and unpredictable partner. However, right after Shiv, Kendall joins the party in rallying against their father, after a distressing call with Matsson himself.
The episode ends with Logan tapping into his most reliable asset, aka Roman, right after the youngest Roy sibling discloses his own share of doubt about the rogue trio. Even though it remains unclear as to how or when Roman might get into play, Logan’s ambiguous intention tops the suspense of the cliffhanger.
Succession Season 4 Episode 2 Review

The episode excels in terms of the dark comic relief and unpredictable nature of the series. Moreover, as of now, the rogue trio easily have the upper hand on Logan, irrespective of the bigger outcome. However, if things pan out in the set progression, both Kendall and Shiv might soon lose their grip on the entire setup.
Throughout the episode, the tension between Roman and the rest of the group was completely evident. And as a result, the nervous sibling sided ways with Logan in the end. Notably, it’s still not clear if we are witnessing the soft-sided Logan or an entirely fabricated version of the sly media mogul.
Whatever the case may be, the Roy magic in the series is finally taking its shape, with each member getting their own share of the fight, along with multiple conflicts of interest.
