5 Steamy Teenage Shows on Netflix That Are Equally High on Drama: Class, Sex Education and More

OTT platforms are constantly putting out new shows, but a new category of series on the rise right now is that of steamy teenage shows on Netflix. So, here we are, with a list of such shows for you that not only bring the heat, but also tension and lots of drama. While the content of these shows is often explicit and restricted for a certain group of audience, they also tend to focus a lot on the characters present therein, in turn probing into their sexual orientation, gender identities and other issues.

Without putting off the discussion for another moment, let’s take a look at these shows available on Netflix for streaming.

Steamy Teenage Shows on Netflix That Have a Lot More to Say

Elite

The original Spanish teen crime show spells out the clash between three working class students who are enrolled in a private, ‘elite’ school that is otherwise dominated by their wealthy counterparts. Eventually, this crossfire registers a fateful end for someone.

Heartbreak High

Seeking inspiration from the ’90s Australian teen drama series of the same name, the 2022 ‘soft-reboot’ was high on top-notch representation, and sprinkled with steamy scenes here and there as Amerie and her new friends – Quinn and Darren – tackle with their identity crisis, relationships and sex at Hartley High. The series is a quick watch as compared to others with just 8 episodes over the first season, while the second season is already in-works.

Class

Already announced as the official Hindi remake of Elite, this rendition of the series translates the story into the Indian context. Set in Hampton International, a fictional high-end school located in Delhi, the plot circles around three working class students who find themselves sharing the same corridors as their rather wealthy classmates. This crossing of paths raises several questions against certain prevailing issues in India like homophobia, casteism, corruption, discrimination on the grounds of religion and a lot more.

Sex Education

The name makes it all clear, but at same time, not. While it may seem that the Netflix show is all about sex, yes, it is in some ways, but that’s not everything. All actions unveil themselves through nuanced layers of writing and begin with Otis, a teen virgin, who lives with his mother, a licensed sex therapist. Although he may not have much practical experience of everything, his mother’s constantly nagging lessons on the issue turn him into a sex guru at Mooredale High, where he teams up with Maeve and starts a sex clinic to help resolve the doubts plaguing his batchmates.

Summertime

As movies and series often promise us, “One summer can change your life”, so does the Italian Netflix original series, Summertime. With three seasons now in the bag, the show is based on Federico Moccia’s book series and revolves around Summer and Ale, two polar opposites who serendipitously find each other in Italy’s Adriatic Coast during a summer and start falling for each other.
