Our friendly neighbourhood fallen angel from BTS Black Swan video is back in the Standing Next to You teaser as Jungkook prepares to boggle our minds with his upcoming Golden album’s title track. Released on November 2 at 12 AM KST on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, the music video teaser showcases the K-pop star donning his magnificent dark wings while casting a spell on us with his Michael Jackson-esque choreography for the blazing pop song.
Set to release on November 3, 2023, at 1 PM KST or 12 AM ET, the Standing Next to You music video will be released along with BTS’ youngest member’s first solo full album. Consisting a total of 11 songs, the Jungkook Golden album includes the following tracks – 3D featuring Jack Harlow, Closer to You ft Major Lazer, Seven (explicit version) featuring Latto, Standing Next to You, Yes or No, Please Don’t Change ft DJ Snake, Hate You, Somebody, Too Sad to Dance, Shot Glass of Tears and Seven (clean version) featuring Latto.
The new teaser for Jungkook’s forthcoming music video features him in monochrome outfits as he’s backed by 6 other background dancers, thus feeding into the BTS OT7 agenda. A glimpse into what Standing Next to You is going to sound like has so far revealed a campy audio which is supported by an altogether contradictory vision of him sporting the fallen angel wings in a dark concept, while other scenes also depict him as part of a supposed romantic subplot with a woman. Additionally, he’s already been nicknamed as “Jungkook Jackson” by the BTS ARMYs for his dancing chops that quintessentially mirror some of the King of Pop’s signature moves.
Switching lanes from his K-pop origins to taking over the world of Pop music, Jungkook has reinvented his artistic identity as a soloist, but he’s not forgotten his roots, especially since the video teaser attentively focusses on him alluding to his group’s song Black Swan that was released as a track of the septet’s 2020 studio album Map of the Soul: 7.

Although this song has been listed as the fourth track on the Golden tracklist, it’s been credited as the “focus” or title track of the album too. For the production of this track, Jungkook has once again collaborated with American singer-songwriter Andrew Watt and record producer Cirkut, with whom he’d worked for the track Seven. The song has been written by Andre Watt alongside Henry Walter, Jon Bellion and Ali Tamposi.
