Even though shounen giants like Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, My Hero Academia Season 6 and Chainsaw Man are all airing this season, Spy x Family stays strong amongst the top dogs with an unconventional storyline and interesting characters. The series is based on the hit manga by Endou Tatsuya, which combines action with family-centric comedy. Spy x Family episode 13 has a runtime of 24 minutes.
Spy x Family Episode 13 Overview
After the successful first season, it was only natural that we would get a second season for the Forger family. The anime is back with stunning animation, clearly influenced by the triumph of season 1 and a fast-paced storyline that will never cease to amaze the audience.
Furuhashi Kazuhiro directs the anime, and on the other hand, Wit Studio, CloverWorks is in charge of its animation. “SOUVENIR” by BUMP OF CHICKEN is the opening theme, whereas “Shikisai (色彩)” by yama is the ending theme.

Spy x Family Episode 13 Review: Yor and Franky’s Dilemma
This episode of Spy X Family was intense but in a different sense. There were no chase scenes, nor was there any top-secret mission that needed Loid’s special attention, but it was harsh for Yor. No, she was not fighting with villains, but rather, she tried to triumph in a field that she was especially bad at.
But she was not alone; in this harsh training, surprisingly, Camilla came to her rescue. Gone are the days of resentment, and we see Camilla genuinely trying to do something good for Yor. Not only she, but Dominic, Camilla’s boyfriend and Yuri’s subordinate, along with Yuri himself, was there to support Yor.
Yuri was not much of a help when it came to criticising Yor’s work, as for him, his sister is the best, and she is absolutely right in every sector. But for the other two judges, Yor’s efforts naturally became quite deadly.

This half of the episode showed us more about Yor and Yuri’s past and how they grew up. Not only that, but we also saw the personal growth of other characters proving that they are not one-dimensional.

When the second half of the episode started, we already knew the focus was on Franky. He lands himself in a situation and needs a quick solution from the expert himself, Loid.
And Loid being so good at almost everything, had to relent to this subordinate/friend. Again, here, we saw a different side of both Franky and Loid and explored their dynamics more. Both of them might not agree, but by the end of the episode, the audience has a pretty good idea of how they are quite supportive of each other.
This episode honestly was hilarious and, at the same time, quite free-flowing. It didn’t contribute much to the overall anime story, but I loved it nonetheless. These small aspects of the secretive characters of Spy X Family deserve their own limelight, and I’m glad that they are much more humanised here.

Verdict
Definitely, an interesting episode that you already expect from the Spy X Family franchise. The anime has the power to hold your attention even with simpler subjects and incidents. Every time something mind-bending is not needed for one to appreciate a good anime, and Spy X Family knows how to do just that. Watch Spy X Family on Netflix.
