Each day as a Taylor Swift fan is a gift waiting to surprise us, and just like that, she’s announced her collaboration with Lana Del Rey for Snow On The Beach, the fourth track on her upcoming album Midnights. Earlier today, the All Too Well artist spread the word via her post on Instagram, which she ‘couldn’t get through without grinning’.
While the complete tracklist of the album had already been shared with the fans, setting down the titles on the thirteen-track record, telling thirteen different stories, the singer-songwriter has been gradually spilling the details of each track as well. Today, it was Track 4’s turn, which will be featuring the Summertime Sadness singer, of whom Swift is a “massive fan”.

She also went on to explain the concept that inspired the track, which “is about falling in love with someone at the same time as they’re falling in love with you”. Putting it across as a “cataclysmic, fated” event, Snow On The Beach then comes across as the hyperbolic imagery of something that you never thought would actually happen to you.
The song will majorly focus on the reciprocation of one’s feelings, something that feels quite unreal and dreamy but it is in fact happening to you. And who better to collaborate with for this than the ethereal artist herself. For Swift, Del Rey is “one of the best musical artists ever” and it is her “honor and privilege” to not only be working on this song with her but also to be existing at the same time as her.

The tracklist released as of yet reveals two sides to the record. Side A includes Lavender Haze; Maroon; Anti-Hero; Snow On The Beach; You’re On Your Own, Kid, and Midnight Rain. On the other hand, Side B includes Question…?; Vigilante Shit; Bejeweled; Labyrinth; Karma; Sweet Nothing, and Mastermind.
Swift has detailed her soon-to-release album as expressing “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life”. Special edition vinyls consisting of her personally hand-signed photos are also available on her website.
