Shikarpur Ending Explained
Shikarpur is a small village in West Bengal and the first glimpse we get of this place is through the legendary Debi Chaudhurani temple, where a small boy finds a gold coin, the gold coin that causes a pile of murders and confronts a generation of trauma unseen.
We start off six months later with Keshto, making his way across the village and coming back home with vegetables when we get an introduction to the main characters, Dindayal, his mentor, Chumki, his girlfriend and Biman, the local police officer. Except for Chumki and Dindayal not many people like Keshto, a fact that is making his life in Shikarpur exceedingly difficult.
Keshto aspires to be a big detective like his mentor, but right now he has been getting uninteresting cases like catching the Slimy Ghost, who doesn’t seem to be that big of a threat. He is more interested in the murders that are happening around their area. Soon, he gets a phone call that he will be hired to solve the case when the next murder will be committed. Someone has been murdered and Keshto is called to solve it. Involving the murder of a Ghosh, the history goes back to 1790, when the first Ghosh died trying to take something that wasn’t his.

In the story, Ramprakash Ghosh explains that his ancestor Taraknath had become greedy for the gold that Debi Chaudhurani had hidden under the temple built in her name. So he decides to steal it but before he can do that, he gets Debi Chaudhurani caught by the British. She curses their entire bloodline for all eternity saying that only a single male heir will be able to get his hands on the loot.
This harrowing story becomes the main motive for all the murders. In the first three murders, Keshto figures, Ramprakash committed to wiping out the bloodline so he can keep the gold. However, the next morning, he is murdered. It is truly a concern now and Keshto is on a wild goose chase to find out who did it.
The very same night, his wife, who everyone assumes is a maid was also threatened with murder. Circling through the suspects, he mentally rounds them up one by one. When he decides that none of them are fit to be prime suspects he’s back at square one. Coincidentally, he finds out that the Slimy Ghost is actually Boltu, one of the tenants at Ramprakash’s house.
It is at this time that his mentor asks Keshto to warn the other Ghoshs about this story and their imminent danger. One of the Ghoshs is a small boy who Keshto brings back to his home. The other turns out to be an old man, who passes away as soon as he drinks the first sip of tea. The blame now turned towards Sanatan whose name was the final word of the dead man’s mouth.
In looking for Sanatan, they come across a dilapidated house with newspapers and concerning furniture inside, and as they inspect the house they find that the walls are covered in the Ghosh genealogy. The man in the house makes a break for the road and Keshto almost chases him down before the man runs into the traffic, instantly killed. We soon find out that the man living there worked in films and the murderer has been using this identity to lure other Ghosh members.

Shikarpur is small and almost everyone knows each other. In investigating the family tree, Keshto figures out that he is Sanatan’s son and has been living in the orphanage long enough before Dindayal could take him in. In a shocking twist, we find out that Dindayal had actually delivered baby Keshto to the Bhaduri house, where his mother came from but they wanted nothing to do with it.
The whole thing comes down to the little boy at Dindayal’s house and Keshto. As he reaches the place, he sees the little boy’s mother dead and Dindayal standing over the little boy about to kill him. Actually, Dindayal is from the Biswas family, the one who were supposed to inherit all of Ghosh’s wealth but was instead screwed over and forced to live a life of eternal middle-classhood.
The twists and turns of Shikarpur make it an interesting show, with viewers sure to enjoy its historical elements and its relation with the current crimes taking place in the village.

I have a question that I request you to answer me.
Is the magician a Ghosh? Why didn’t Ghosh get the loot? Is it because that loot were not his?
I think he is not ghost and the treasure is hidden in the well. Magician knows that.
