Shaun White The Last Run Review
Shaun White is one of the iconic sports legends in the world, and after hearing his retirement news, every fan of his wept, including his family. After years and years of competing in world games, the man with a legacy has decided to call it quits and focus on his new future. As a remedy for his sad fans, his entire success story is packed into a docu-series for the world to witness and cherish.
From the first episode to the last fourth part, the team has put their utmost effort into telling Shaun White’s tale with adequate footage from the man’s past. Be it his childhood, teenage years, and the succeeding days, the viewers have the chance to go back and forth in time along with Shaun.

Additionally, the interviews given by Shaun’s loved ones, like his family and his managing team, strengthen the docu-series value. Usually, many famous people’s documentaries won’t have enough footage of themselves from different periods of time. Since Shaun is only 36, most of his early days have been recorded with digital equipment. Hence it’s a great feast for his fans as they have a deep insight into Shaun’s personal life and growth.
Coming back to his age, it’s a tremendous success for a young man like him to have his own docu-series. Does he deserve it? Well, absolutely. When you watch the series, you will see many graphic events proving how arduously Shaun has worked for the title he owns now. From slipping down a huge wooden skateboarding ramp and hurting his back to falling right on his face on a snow ramp and enduring bloody injuries, the series offers strong sportsmanship details.

Most of his fans know that when Shaun was a baby, he had a heart defect and was advised not to try risky activities. But the man challenged the doctors and went against everything he was advised not to, only to win medals and make America proud. Shaun’s father agrees that though he knew that Shaun was inviting danger, he believed that his son had a special talent.
The people around him believed that even if he breaks his bones (which he has), Shaun will take it chill and proceed. And to back all these statements, the editing team has added equivalent videos and photos of Shaun. Apart from the stunt visuals, we also have videos to witness the pro snowboarder’s youth, like his magazine photoshoots, early girlfriend, etc.

As we all know (or not), Shaun White’s present girlfriend is none other than Nina Dobrev, the beauty who rose to stardom through Vampire Diaries. She also features in the docu-series where the couple are seen spending quality time and hyping each other. Towards the end, when Shaun announces about his next goals, the proud look Nina shoots at him is one-of-a-kind.
Final Thoughts
It’s nice that the series’ team didn’t only put out Shaun’s victories but also added his failures, breakdowns, his family’s pain watching their son struggle, and such, to make the watching experience feel authentic. The locations and the real footage of the Olympics are great additions for the international audience to witness.

Overall, Shaun White The Last Run is an emotional rundown of the snowboarder’s success path for his fans. If you’ve watched the docu-series, let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
