Shark Tank India Season 2 episode 12 premiered on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television on January 17, 2023, at 10PM IST. Payel Seth is the show’s creative director, while it’s been produced by Studio NEXT, with Ravikesh Vatsa as its writer. The show is now hosted by renowned comedian Rahul Dua, and is joined by six sharks, namely, Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.
For the twelfth episode of the season, the business reality show welcomed ‘Ghar Soaps’, ‘Janitri’ and ‘Jaipur Watch Company’. The first business highly impressed the sharks with its execution model and digital marketing, having gained immense profits by fusing ayurveda and science in their products. ‘Janitri’, on the other hand, strives to start the conversation around saving lives and countering the complications arisen during deliveries, further endangering the safety of mothers and their babies, using their cutting-edge technology. The final pitch of ‘Jaipur Watch Company’ established the presence of India’s first micro-luxury watch brand.
The second pitch of ‘Janitri’ was met with high interests from Namita’s side since it’s her field of expertise. She was determined to go ahead with a solo deal and severely opposed the other sharks’ offer, as jointly posed by Peyush and Amit. Peyush even wanted to join hands with Namita for this deal, but his idea was extinguished by Namita and it initiated some chain reactions (and suggestive facial expressions), which the fans couldn’t help but pick on.
Recently, news about the sharks’ respective businesses sliding into losses has made the headlines, and the audiences of the show haven’t left out on nitpicking this image either. They further speak of how the contestants might even be excelling at their entrepreneurship game, on much better terms than the sharks themselves. Some even went on to notice how the series has now transformed into a “bargaining tank instead, with hints of soap-opera level drama.
