The love for Everything Everywhere All at Once is just overflowing. So much so that Ke Huy Quan cannot stop crying when people mention his beginnings and evolution in the industry. Many talented actors have taken a leap to join this film, which includes Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis, James Hong, Jenny Slate and Harry Shum Jr., among others. Meanwhile, the directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (dubbed The Daniels) have been making absurd yet heartfelt films for a long time, and this is the one that hit the jackpot.
Everything Everywhere All at Once has taken the world over by storm, so it is only justified now that we look at more of their projects. Here is a list of films by the cast and crew that you have to watch-
Swiss Army Man
Directed by The Daniels, the movie centres around a protagonist that has been stranded alone on an island and when he decides to take his own life, he notices a body washed up on shore. While the man is quite clearly dead, he continues speaking and attempting to understand emotion. The protagonist and the body of the man go on an adventure together and become fast friends by the end. The director duo is great by starting a film with the most absurd concept and bringing it home with a touching emotional message that lingers in the audience’s minds.
Crazy Rich Asians
This is the film that inspired Ke Huy Quan to get back into acting, and Michelle Yeoh is fantastic in it. This was one of the first films with an entire Asian ensemble in a long time. Starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding, it told the story of an extremely rich Nick and an economics professor Rachel going to Singapore to attend their friend’s marriage. In the midst of this, Rachel meets Nick’s mother, who does not approve of her. The film is an exploration of class and identity through the lens of a fun romantic comedy.
Knives Out
Jamie Lee Curtis stars in this film alongside legendary actors Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Christopher Plummer, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette and other fantastic cast members. This film chronicles a murder that took place in the house, and nearly everyone is a suspect. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the film does a fantastic job of telling a story of family dynamics while also keeping the spirit of a murder mystery alive.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
For many people, Ke Huy Quan’s character of Short Round became the Asian representation many were looking for at the time. This film is an action-adventure story of an archaeologist trying to find a lost relic in India that an evil priest has captured. Apart from the Asian representation, the film is a cornerstone in pop culture and one of the jewels in Harrison Ford’s roster of films. Directed by Steven Spielberg, it is an instant classic that is still relevant. So much so that there is an Indiana Jones 5 coming soon this year.
Kung Fu Panda Series
If people are looking for an animated film series that has been doing consistently well, Kung Fu Panda is one of the best. James Hong stars as Po’s adoptive father, Mr Ping and truly exemplifies the role of a stellar father figure. While the film employs comedy and action adventure to tell a story, it also explores certain existential questions while showing the meaning of family. Music director Hans Zimmer joins this film with actors like Jack Black, Angeline Jolie, Jackie Chan and Lucy Liu. It is a fantastic comfort watch for people of all ages.
While many of these films are out, cast members are constantly getting more jobs after this film, especially Ke Huy Quan, who is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Loki. Meanwhile, Michelle Yeoh will be joining a television show titled American-Born Chinese. Stephanie Hsu will also join her. Both these shows are slated to premiere on Disney+ this year. All the actors and the directors of Everything Everywhere All at Once have been making things that are truly worth a watch and make us think deeply.
