-Shantaram Episode 6 Does Not Contain Spoilers-
The episode starts with another segment of Lin’s past, which reveals the core reason behind his prison escape in Australia. Wally Nightingale (played by David Fields), the officer in charge, blackmails Lin into snitching even after his determined refusal. However, his shady meeting with the officer results in a snitch tag anyway and leaves no other option than a prison break.
Something similar on the accounts is getting repeated in Sagar Wada. Where Lin’s real identity is on the verge of exposure after Kavita (the journalist) starts preparing a news story on the medicine baba of the slum. For the second time in his life, Lin will have to escape from his troubles and start a new life somewhere else. The only issue this time is the growing attachment to his friends.
The episode moves the story forward but at its own pace. I have so many expectations from the drama series, but the slow reveal is not keeping up with the intrigue. Even though drama requires its sweet time to unfold, I think I am on edge of losing my patience.

Reynaldo’s Cafe is the usual place to hang out in the series, and also the centre point of illegal activities. Whenever Lin makes a troublesome decision, it mostly originates from this cafe. This time Linbaba is in desperate need of a passport and seeks the help of Reynaldo’s regular customer Didier. However, little did he know that the messiah for Lin, would himself land in a mess.
The episode lacks to push the story forward and acts as another filler. Even though the series is halfway through, the plot hasn’t picked up the pace and rotates mostly around the usual places. However, there is still hope for the next half of the season, and I am definitely rooting for it.

Shantaram Episode 6 Final Thoughts

The story seems to be stuck within a loop, but it would be an injustice to draw a conclusion purely out of impatience. I have faith in the upcoming episodes, and in the story of Linbaba. Plus, we definitely need more Bollywood tracks in the show.
