Seoul Vibe Trailer Breakdown: Race, Chase, Money Laundering and More

Netflix is ready to take you to the 1988 city of Seoul, the year the Olympics took place in the country. Now, taking us to the past, we have the upcoming movie Seoul Vibe that won’t just show us the city right before the athletic events, but also the race and chase that took place behind the scenes.

The release of the trailer has brought up excitement within the viewers as they wait to see the past which is filled with a completely different kind of chase. Fans are eager to see their favourite stars coming together for this movie as we slowly approach the release.

Directed by Moon Hyun-sung, the movie stars Yoo Ah-in, Go Kyung-po, Lee Kyu-hyung, Park Ju-hyun, Ong Seong-wu, Kim Sung-kyun, alongside other cast members.

Seoul Vibe Trailer Breakdown

The Seoul Vibe trailer opens up with a close shot of a mixtape that acts as the BGM during the trailer. The scene shifts to the view of the old city that is ready to welcome the Olympic Games. Then, cars line up as they get ready for some street racing and we see our protagonist Dong Wook dominating the track already.

Dong Wook is a street racer but his skills are no joke as he can shift those gears faster than you can catch it. The scene then shifts to an attorney who knows them very well, approaching Dong Wook and his friends with a task. Dong Wook seems to keep himself up to date as he knows what the task is.

The first 40 seconds have already set Dong Wook’s character as a smart leader of his group who is also among the best drivers out there. As the group gets the mission to work as spies for a prosecutor on people who are suspected to be involved in money laundering, the group very smoothly infiltrates her zone.

She offers the group ten million won per delivery while making it seem so simple, however, it is not really easy. As the police tighten the security in the city, Dong Wook has to make sure that he completes the task at hand.

Next, we see his friend handing him a mixtape that will keep his speed up, which also points to another interest of the protagonists- some good music.

He continues to keep his calm while making some really quick moves with his car, but his attitude seems to have annoyed the general manager Lee Hyun-kyun.

While his attitude is one of a cool-headed person, his confidence in his driving seems to be getting him in a lot of trouble. Though he does seems to be getting out of it really well, while scaring those who are also in the car.

A stream of scenes then shows the group working to gather evidence of the money laundering while putting their lives on the line. Don Wook is once again shown sparking with confidence as he tells Lee Hyun-kyun, “You know I’m the best driver.”

The trailer then ends with the scene of his car opening up parachutes as it floats in the wind before landing, and another scene of Dong Wook jamming to the new mixtape with his friends.

Seoul Vibe is set to release on August 26, 2022, and will be available for streaming on Netflix.
