Seoul Busters: Kim Dong-wook is All Set to Star in an Upcoming Comedy Crime Series, Cast Revealed

Disney+ has been delivering some of the best dramas that keep audiences hooked, especially when it comes to crime dramas. Today, the streaming giant has announced an exciting new addition to its lineup: Seoul Busters. On May 21, it shared the broadcast plans for this upcoming comedy crime series, along with a group photo featuring its main cast members, including Kim Dong-wook, Park Se-wan, Park Ji-hwan, Seo Hyun-woo, and Lee Seung-woo.

Seoul Busters is set to be a refreshing take on the crime drama genre, blending humour and action as it follows the transformation of the country’s lowest-ranking violent crimes unit into the nation’s top team. This remarkable journey is spearheaded by a highly skilled new leader. The drama is penned by the acclaimed screenwriters Lee Young-chul, known for the High Kick series and The Best Hit, and Lee Kwang-jae, famous for Potato Star 2013QR3.

Kim Dong-wook leads the cast as Dongbang Yoo-bin, the charismatic and brilliant head of the Songwon Police Station’s Homicide Squad Unit 2. Dongbang Yoo-bin, who is handsome, intelligent, and athletic, was once offered a permanent professorship at a prestigious overseas university. However, he chose to return to Korea to lead the Songwon Police Station’s Homicide Squad Unit 2, which has the lowest arrest rate in the country.

Park Se-wan plays Seo Min-seo, who, despite her gentle appearance, holds significant power within the Homicide Squad Unit 2. Her character adds depth and strength to the team dynamic. Park Ji-hwan stars as veteran detective Moo Joong-ryeok. A former national boxing team member, Moo Joong-ryeok appears tough but has an unexpectedly charming side.

Seo Hyun-woo takes on the role of detective Jung Jung-hwan, a former national shooting team member who once dreamed of Olympic glory. Now, he is focused on earning a promotion to better support his family, adding a layer of personal stakes to his character. Rookie actor Lee Seung-woo portrays Jang Tan-sik, the youngest member of Dongbang Yoo-bin’s squad. Despite his clumsiness, Jang Tan-sik’s positive personality and excessive passion helped him navigate his role in the team.
