Sanda Episode 7 Recap

Out of fear for Kazushige Sanda’s safety, Hitoshi Amaya confronts him and declares that they must end their friendship. Amaya’s decision is born from a sincere but painful concern, as he believes distancing himself is the only way to protect Sanda from the dangerous life he leads. Sanda, however, is unwilling to accept the breakup and tries passionately to reconcile. This shows how much their bond means and how heavy the consequences of Sanda’s double life weigh on him.

Meanwhile, Hifumi Oshibu, still haunted by his wounds from past fights, begins a chilling new plan. With encouragement from Saburo Yagiuda, his physical and emotional scars begin to heal, but his ambition grows more dangerous than ever. He reaches out to a secretive and sinister group, Class 10, comprised of children who have actually killed adults. Among them is their enigmatic leader, Ikutane Nikaumi, a character introduced in this episode whose cheerful facade hides something far more twisted.

These children’s wish to confront Santa is more than symbolic; it weaponises childhood innocence into a genuine threat. Class 10 even demands something grotesque from Sanda, as they ask for his thumbs. This demand showcases Santa’s biggest vulnerability; he cannot simply refuse a child’s wish, even when the child is sinister.

The episode ends on a high-stakes note because Sanda’s inability to refuse these murderous children puts him in grave danger. The world he thought he understood indeed becomes even more menacing. Overall, the episode deepens the emotional cost of Sanda’s mission and reveals just how ruthless his enemies truly are.

Sanda again manages to show why it is one of the most promising anime of this season. Here again, the episode became something unexpected, and I’m honestly shocked that it still is such a hidden and underrated gem. This episode begins with Fuyumura having a dramatic entry, completely armed with her dynamites. Even Sanda accepts that Fuyumura is an absolute badass who only does whatever she thinks is right.

But here, we get a sad fact from Sanda that whenever he feels like he’s falling for Fuyumura, he transforms into his adult self so that he can calm himself down. This is definitely for the better because Fuyumura does not like him romantically, but it is also sad for Sanda, who has always had a crush on her. In this episode, we also see that the wish of a child can become a blade to the heart for an inexperienced Santa Claus because it acts like a powerful drug.

This can definitely be turned into a weapon against Sanda if he does not look after himself in the future. However, Sanda’s act of kindness has also led to a dangerous girl falling for him in a pretty disturbing way. To make things better for him, Sanda decides that he will try to transform his heart stronger, but his efforts only lead to massive failures in the most unexpected ways. Someone like him, who is not even allowed to fall in love with his own classmates, is asked for a kiss.

This episode also did not miss and showcased a massive twist towards the end. Hopefully, we will get to see more of the Sanda and Niko pairing because they work together very well.
