Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s First Look of Shakuntalam Is Naturistic, Ethereal and Demure

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Shakuntalam first look is breathtakingly beautiful. The film is a mythological piece based on the story of the same name which portrays the epic love story between Shakuntala and Dushyanta. It is an adaptation of the Aadi Parva of the Mahabharata. The film is directed and written by Guna Sekhar with Samantha in the titular role of Queen Shakuntala Devi. The rest of the cast includes Dev Mohan as King Dushyanta and, Allu Arjun’s daughter, Allu Arha as Prince Bharata with Kabir Duhan Singh as King Asura.

Actress Samantha has already expressed her love for period films and mythological pieces and, the new poster has been worth the wait with its reveal. The ones who are not aware of the love saga between Queen Shakuntala and King Dushyanta, it is not only one of the oldest Indian stories to exist, it is also a love story that has inspired many over the years and, led to the evolution of the romantic plotlines.

Produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions respectively, the first look of the upcoming film features Samantha’s Shakuntala sitting in the forest, amidst the animals. She is dressed in white with rose petal jewellery adorning her, giving us a very naturistic look.

The first look poster is very symbolic as it presumably represents the first time Dushyanta set his eyes on Shakuntala. The incident took place when the King was hunting in the forest and, fell in love with the hermit girl. In the absence of her father, Shakuntala married Dushyanta in the ceremony of Ghandharva- where a duo is married with mutual consent as mother Nature holds witness to the event.

Samantha is surely a sight to behold in the poster and, we cannot wait for the film’s release date and, more pictures and posters to surface. Learn more about the film, here.
