Sakamoto Days Episode 12 recap

Sakamoto Days Episode 13 Review
Sakamoto Days Episode 13: Still

This segment kicks off with far more action than I expected, and I absolutely loved it. We see Slug unleashing a group of extremely dangerous criminals into Japan with the sole mission of eliminating Sakamoto. These new antagonists are terrifying in their own unique ways, each more unsettling than the last. They’re all death row inmates, including Dump, a twisted woman who gets a thrill from watching fear in her victims’ eyes before she kills them. Then there’s Apart, who’s a meticulous killer with extreme OCD. After that, we have Minimalist, who disturbingly compresses his victims into tiny spheres and Saw, whose brutal side hasn’t even fully surfaced yet.

Thankfully, Sakamoto and The Order are not caught off guard as they’re already preparing for this deadly onslaught. We also get introduced to another member of The Order, Takamura, who immediately stands out as one of the most fascinating characters in the series. He completely defied my expectations.

Another surprising moment was the reveal of Sakamoto’s current assassin ranking. He’s been downgraded to a B rank, which adds an interesting layer to the plot.

But the real highlight comes in the latter half of the episode, when Saw launches an unexpected assault on Lu and Shin. Even Shin’s mind-reading powers couldn’t turn the tide, and it was clear just how outmatched they were.

Sakamoto Days Episode 13: Still

Today’s episode started with Shin and Lu having a fight against Saw. Here, Shin unlocks his new capability of figuring out a move even before his rival can initiate something. But he still could not keep Saw at bay, and that is when Lu comes along to save the day. Somehow, Lu got her hands on some alcohol, and now she unlocks a brand new personality. This personality is a lot mature and calls herself a part of the mafia, and she essentially kicks Saw’s ass.

They give a stellar fight to Saw, but he still somehow manages to escape with severe injuries. However, his fate did not end there, and something terrible happened to him en route to his escape. But the focus was not entirely on Sakamoto and his crew members. The episode mostly covered the fight between Kisaragi and Slug, which was one of the most intense parts. Here, we also get to know a bit more about Slug and her ideology.

According to her, she doesn’t deserve a death sentence just because she is in love. It’s a different fact altogether that her love causes the death of her beloved ones. While fighting with Kisaragi, Slug tries to beat the other woman, but Kisaragi is far more comfortable in this fight than Slug. Not only was she able to continue fist-fighting with someone very physically powerful like Slug, but she also managed to become a subject of awe in her eyes towards the end of the fight.

However, perhaps the most interesting thing about this episode is knowing that these death row inmates can actually defect and work completely of their own volition. But one thing is for sure: the next episode is going to go absolutely crazy, and we might even see a violent side of Sakamoto. He will not sit by idly and see his family, most importantly his wife, get hurt.

I genuinely liked today’s episode as the action was a lot more enjoyable and entertaining. Kisaragi also never really got that much footage before, and now that I can truly see her potential, I like her more. All in all, I am very excited for the next episode.
