Run Jin Episode 28 Review: From Opponents to Becoming One Team

Run Jin episode 28 is here, and this time, it is a chaotic mess as a never-ending game of Jin-nori that leaves both the host and his guest drained and wishing to go home. As the two opponents become one team over the endless game, viewers get an entertaining experience that has been brought to us by the hard work put in by the two stars. This episode is certainly one of the best out there as a viewer of the show gets to experience the hard work our beloved Hamster host puts into every episode of this show.

Run Jin started on August 13th, 2024, after BTS Jin was discharged from the military and took over the group’s popular show Run BTS. With the other members still in the military, Jin took over and showed him engaging in various activities, adventures, and more, often with guests like TXT’s Yeonjun, Lee Yi-kyung, Jonathan Yiombi, and more! With a new episode released every Tuesday, he has been entertaining fans around the world as we await the return of all our beloved BTS members this year!

Today’s episode was a complete chaos as Jin invites his guest Buried Hearts actor Park Hyung-sik to the show to play a game of Jin-nori, which is a Jin-fied version of Yutnori (a traditional Korean game). However, when the staff says the game is Jin-fied, it means there is lots of room for deceit, foul play, and cheating in the game. Moreover, the two have to add two rules of their own in the game and place it on the board anywhere they wish. If this isn’t enough, every time the land in the same place, they need to play a game against each other and the one who wins stays in the position.

Jin is ready for this game, while Park Hyung-sik tries to wrap his head around the rules and gets to playing the game. The deceit begins right from the start, and soon the actor understands that no rules really mean no rules. Meanwhile, the staff have also chosen the person they expect to be the winner and with a 50-50 vote to both the host and guest, the game soon begins. Hyung-sik begins to get into the zone, and unlike his role in his latest Korean drama, he has better luck in this game and gets what he wants.

While he may not be able to beat Jin in the games they need to play, he makes sure to surpass Jin many times and surprise everyone. Meanwhile, Jin continues to show off his cheating skills which leads him into doing the same, which results in Hyung-sik getting better at the deceit part. However, the games soon begin to get a little too exhausting, and both players find themselves in the same boat, hating the games. As the neverending saga of games continues, while Jin-tori sees no end coming by, the opponents soon become teammates and begin cheating the staff together.

This bond especially strengthens when Hyung-sik ends up pulling a card with “Reset” written on it and becomes their nightmare. The two then strive to make Jin win so that they don’t have to reset the game, and with this, Jin soon takes the win. The games finally come to an end, and Hyung-sik tells Jin how much he enjoys the show, but only now does he realise the amount of hard work that goes into making these episodes. With this, the episode comes to an end and follows with a preview of the next episode where our beloved Hamster’s patience is going to be tested.

The episode is labelled Falling For Jin! and it sits perfectly as we see Hyung-sik really falling for our beloved Jin. I have to say, this episode really did give us a better look into the hard work that goes behind the scenes of this show as the editors chose to give us a glimpse of most of the games that the two had to play when shooting. Surely the staff did not go easy on the two but accepted the cheating from them because that was the rule- cheat all you want.

Altogether, this has been one of the best episodes, and let us agree, with two handsome men on board, this was the perfect visual treat for us all. It gave us a new look into Park Hyung-sik as well and I love how Jin is able to make his guests comfortable enough to show viewers a different side to themselves.
