Represent (En Place) is an upcoming French political comedy series, set to be released on Netflix this week. Produced by Studio 14, directed and created by Jean-Pascal Zadi with François Uzan, the series is a social comedy that will talk about integration and the minorities in French democracy today.
Starring in the series as well, Zadi is particularly known for Simply Black (Tout simplement noir) which earned him the César for Best Male Newcomer. The multi-talented artist is back again with a comedy series which will focus on various issues, including the rare event of a black man running for president in France.

The cast of the series includes Jean-Pascal Zadi as Stéphane Blé, Éric Judor, Benoît Poelvoorde, Fadily Camara, Marina Foïs, Fary, Pierre-Emmanuel Barré and Panayotis Pascot.

Represent Plot/Synopsis
The official synopsis for the series reads, “A youth centre leader from the suburbs of Paris becomes a candidate in the presidential election. But is France truly ready for a Black president?” It follows Stéphane Blé, an idealistic educator who is inadvertently thrust into the French presidential race.
The trailer reveals how Stéphane Blé is approached by a man who wants to make him the next president, as he is tired of all the other candidates who do nothing for the citizens and the country. It all started when Stéphane confronted a running presidential candidate regarding an issue and made it to the news as the hero.
From then on starting his journey as people push him to run for his country as well. His acquaintances are happy with his big aspirations but often give him a reality check by saying – this is France, not the USA and the biggest achievement he can get is being a manager of a McDonald’s branch.
But he is not going to give up easily, as he makes his own campaigning team and comes up with the schemes that would help everyone, as well as his votes for his election. As the competition intensifies he even faces some violent protests from his competitor, but who will win in the end, we will find out soon.
