Jagga Jasoos, starring Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, was released in 2017. The film, directed by Anurag Basu, did not do well at the box office. But a lot of people are enjoying it now, and we often see tweets and posts about how it is underrated.
The film ended on a cliffhanger as we met Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the bag guy. Since then, no one has heard anything about the film. People who loved the movie are hoping there will be a sequel. Now, director Anurag Basu has talked about the film and how he is getting offers from various digital platforms to make a web series out of his 2017 fantasy drama.
The Ludo director made these revelations to Mid Day. Basu said, “I wouldn’t name the platforms, but we had offers of developing it into a series. But if it didn’t work in theatres, how do we know it will work on OTT? Pritam is excited about the idea, and wants us to start working on it. However, I am in a strange space [regarding it]. When you do something with so much love and it doesn’t work, you don’t want to try it again. The idea of starting Jagga all over again is enough to give me the chills.”

Well, that’s interesting. It would really be interesting to see if we will ever get Jagga Jasoos web series or not. Even if the director plans to do it, will Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif reunite? Let’s hope so.
Earlier, about the film’s debacle, Kapoor told Indian Express, “Jagga Jasoos is something that we worked for three and a half years. We all were aware of what we were doing. Sometimes you succeed sometimes you fail. But I don’t look at it as a failure, I look at it as a learning. It gave me a lot. The experience of working with Anurag Basu and everyone was very good. I can’t answer for somebody else but I don’t necessarily agree with everything.”
Both the actors have an extremely busy careers at present. Ranbir has two unreleased films – Shamshera and Brahmastra. Kapoor also has Luv Ranjan’s next, in which he stars alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Katrina Kaif has a huge line-up. Sooryavanshi, Phone Bhoot, Tiger 3, Merry Christmas, an untitled film starring Vijay Deverakonda, and a trip film with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt are among Kaif’s next films.
