Ramayana Movie Review on X: Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 had its worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. The movie, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

With a story that has been told, retold and passed on verbally and in text, with on-screen adaptations over the generations, bringing it to the big screen on a massive scale has gripped audiences. With the worldwide theatrical release, audiences have started sharing their reactions on X (formerly Twitter), and the viewers seem to have widely different opinions. X seems divided on several fronts, including the screenplay, but Yash’s performance is largely appreciated in unison.

Ramayana Movie Review on X: Performances Become the Major Highlight

The one thing that is similar across the reactions on X is Yash’s performance as Ravana. Viewers seem impressed with his sequences and screen presence, with several calling his performance the biggest highlight of the film. Sharing their reaction, user @CapXGold was particularly impressed with the actor, describing him as “TSUNAMI OF AURA – MASS, MENACE & MADNESS COMBINED”, and praised the combination of mass appeal and imperial dominance he brought as Ravana, writing, “An absolute incarnation of imperial dominance. His omnipotent screen presence and ferocious profundity make it his most colossal performance ever.”

Meanwhile, another user @FilmyWorldd gave the film a 4.75/5, calling it a masterpiece and praising Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, while singling out Ravi Dubey for delivering the best performance. The post further appreciated the VFX as among the best ever seen, writing, “Highlight- PRE CLIMAX scene. VFX- Best ever in indian cinema (comparable with Hollywood bigies)”, while urging others not to miss it.

User @NethajiNagu listed Ranbir Kapoor’s introduction, Yash’s fight scenes, Sai Pallavi’s acting sequences among the film’s positives, giving a shoutout to AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer for the music that elevates the experience, writing, “Arr and hans zimmer cooked… Visuals were top notch… Ratings – 11/10”.

A similar reaction was shared by user @ShivaAjith_, who gave the film a 9.5 out of 10, praising the introduction, fight sequences, performance, interval staging and music. The viewer did not have much to complain about.

User @raju_innocentev called the effects of the film one of the best IMAX 3D viewing experiences they have had, writing, “This movie is made for IMAX and even the 3D effects are fantastic. ONE OF THE BEST IMAX 3D WATCHING EXPERIENCES I HAD”.

Jatayu vs Ravana Fight Gets Mixed Reactions

One sequence that has received different reactions is the Jatayu-Ravana fight. While some viewers seem to have walked away fully impressed, others feel that the sequence does not deliver as per their expectations.

User @ranvijayrocky was all praise for the confrontation, writing, “JATAYU vs RAVANA fight is one of the best in recent times… 4000/4000”, with a meme that read, “PEAK”.

However, for user @ReviewerBossu, the scene felt differently. The user felt that the scene lacked the expected impact, and the larger criticism was of the storytelling of the film, with the reviewer pointing out that the narration felt slow for much of the film, writing, “The Storytelling feels… Entire narration is slow paced, but climax suddenly feels rushed,No Proper finishing touch,No impactful &Not even Enough curiosity for Part 2. Jatayu fight lacks the expected impact.”

Viewers Criticise the Slow Screenplay, Rushed Climax

Not everyone walked away impressed. Despite the appreciation, a section of viewers believe that the film struggles to maintain its storytelling momentum. User @hlfbldme gave the film a 2 out of 5, calling it a missed opportunity, while writing, “Despite the massive scale, grand visuals and high expectations, Ramayana fails to deliver a truly engaging experience. The storytelling feels weak, the screenplay lacks depth, and several moments fail to create the emotional impact.”

Another criticism came from @AnbuRzs who found the experience average, suggesting that the storytelling does not bring freshness and cautioned others to not believe in the positive responses, writing, “After watched #Ramayana feel average nothing new already many times watched feel very tired… you want waste your 3 hours+ time you can go and watch!! You can see many paid postive reviews on your feed don’t believe that!!”

The criticism got harsher with @haydenhazel05, whose overall verdict read, “ULTRA DISASTER”, while acknowledging the VFX, interval and end-credit card.

Unimpressed user @508_Hrithik simply called the film a flop and even criticised the VFX quality, screenplay, music, character depth, writing, “#Ramayana is a flop movie with very poor quality VFX. Ranbir’s performance is his worst in this film; he does not suit the role of Lord Ram. The movie suffers from a lack of character depth, inconsistent CGI, bad music, and a flat screenplay.”

X Verdict: The Film Seems to Be Dividing the Audience

Going by the X reactions for the movie Ramayana, the film appears to be at the point where the spectacle and the storytelling are being judged rather differently. For some viewers, the combination of the visuals, action sequences, music and performance seems to make the theatrical experience worthwhile, while for some others, the film’s pacing, screenplay and climax prevent it from becoming what they hoped it would be.
