Pseudo Harem Episode 9 Recap

Rin has been feeling restless lately, her thoughts consumed by her role as a girlfriend. She’s been losing sleep over the news that her newly minted boyfriend has been attracting a bit too much attention since starting college. Someone even confessed to him. Rin isn’t concerned about him cheating, but she can’t shake the twinge of jealousy over how popular her beloved has become. She confides in her best friend, Megu, hoping for some sympathy.

However, Megu doesn’t take Rin’s worries seriously at all. Knowing this phase will pass, she playfully teases her friend. Even Rin’s sister joins in on the fun, teaming up with Megu to lighten the mood. Despite their attempts to reassure her, Rin can’t help but let the thoughts fester. Determined to see things for herself, she decides to investigate. So when Eiji invites her to visit his college, she eagerly agrees. They even plan to have Rin pretend to be a student there.

After careful preparation, Rin sets off to uncover the truth. Is her boyfriend really that popular? How many potential rivals are there? But what she finds when she arrives is a familiar sight—Eiji being his usual self, playful and quirky, pulling the same old tricks with his new friends.

Eiji had a lot on his plate in this episode because something very special happened. There is no one in Rin’s house, and he has been invited to her abode. Now, keep in mind that this is the first time Eiji is visiting her house that too after becoming her boyfriend. But even though he seems a bit frazzled in the beginning, he soon starts to love the time spent together with his girlfriend.

He even goes as far as pretending to be the husband of the family and cook for his dear wife. They then exchange a few romantic moments and finally settle down after having a hearty dinner. Later, when inquiring about a festival happening nearby, Rin invites Eiji to her room, where they enjoy a view of the fireworks festival. Here, one of the most memorable things happens to Eiji, but the beautiful moment quickly gets disrupted, sending our protagonists into utter shock.

But this was not all, as things were just starting to become more intimate between Rin and Eiji. We also see Eiji taking up part-time work and saving money relentlessly without spending it on his own entertainment just so he can buy a gift for Rin’s birthday. This is an extremely sweet gesture that makes his friend visibly jealous.

You can feel that the couple has become closer than ever, as Rin also visits Eiji’s dorm room. They discuss their future plans, cook food together, and spend quality time very often. Thankfully, in this episode, we could see what gift Eiji buys for Rin. He had a hard time thinking about what might be best for her, but he managed to buy something appropriate nevertheless.

Verdict
