Phantom Lawyer Episode 2 Recap

Phantom Lawyer Episode 2 Review:

The episode begins with Yi-rang pretending to be unconscious so that he can save himself from the embarrassment of causing a scene in court. He then goes to his office to burn all the talismans so that the soul of Gang-pung does not come to bother him. On the other hand, Gang-pung sees himself disappear while his daughter struggles with an ailment in her bed. Just then, Gang-pung possesses Yi-rang and stops the father, with whom Yi-rang was burning the talisman.

After that, Gang-pung begs Yi-rang to save his daughter, and Yi-rang goes to bring her. On his way, he meets Na-hyeon, who helps him take the child to the hospital. Following that, he even manages to locate the nurse who was in the operating room when Gang-pung was killed. Apparently, she took a hefty sum of money from the doctor who operated for her silence. He tries to convince her by telling her to think about her own child and the effect it would have on him if he were to know that his mother was part of such a big crime. Then he asks her to reveal the truth in the court, and she still declines.

Yi-rang comes up with another plan to get the EMR record, which should reveal the exact things that happened during the operation. This information goes to Na-hyeon, who then confronts the doctor, but she gets dismissed by her boss, Do-kyung. Do-kyung then shows his true colours and reveals to us that he’s the one who advised the doctor to do all the illegal things after he murdered Gang-pung.

After that, Na-hyeon starts doing her own undercover digging. She went to the exact spot where Yi-rang had gone to search for evidence against the doctor. Now the situation becomes complicated when she gets herself involved with some notorious gangsters and their drug supply. Thankfully, that is when Yi-rang comes in to save her. Though he tries to fight, he gets beaten up pretty quickly. But when Gang-pung possesses him, he quickly pummels everyone.

After this, Yi-rang wins the case, and the doctor gets jailed. Towards the end, we also see some background information on Na-hyeon, who loses her case for the very first time. Yi-rang also goes to meet Gang-pung’s daughter and tries to make her understand that it is not her fault that her father died. Yi-rang then burns the talisman, and Gang-pung’s soul gets purified. But this is not the end, even though Yi-rang tries his best to keep ghosts away, he still gets himself involved with them.

This was a fun episode, and I believe we will see new ghosts in every different episode, and Yi-rang will solve their cases. His clients might not involve humans at all, as he can now see ghosts. Honestly, I like how the story is evolving at this point.
