Why did Jeong-hui do what she did?

At first, the audience might think that Jeong-hui got jealous and that is why she went to the police officers to complain about her beloved’s lover, who was a North Korean. However, that was not the case; she was actually willing to face heartbreak and be content with it. But on the day she learned Dong-sik was in love with another woman, she went to a bar where she mentioned a North Korean refugee to a stranger. Sadly, that stranger turned out to be someone from the government. Guilt-ridden, Jeong-hui could not say anything to her Dong-sik and took it upon herself to make amends for her sins.

Why is Do-kyung hellbent on defeating Yi-rang?

In this episode, it becomes very apparent that Do-kyung is in love with Na-hyun. He fully thought that he would be able to manipulate her into coming back to his law firm, but that did not happen. He even comes close to confessing his feelings, but stops before he almost exposes himself. Na-hyun obviously did not realise his feelings, and she told him that she would not return as she likes to be with Yi-rang.

Was Seon-hwa actually alive?

It becomes apparent that Seon-hwa was actually not dead, and she had been alive for a long time. Apparently, she faked her own death so that she could escape from prison and live a quiet life without being bothered. She also managed to stay close to her son that way. Both Yi-rang and Na-hyun discover that she is none other than a lady who runs a noodle service shop where they had eaten before.

Was Dong-sik actually in love with Seon-hwa?

The biggest twist of this episode was that Dong-sik had always been in love with his wife, Jeong-hui, not Seon-hwa. Though his wife thought that he married her out of obligation, he actually was just as smitten with her. Not only that, the shoes that Jeong-hui thought were for Seon-hwa were actually for her. When she tries to make Seon-hwa wear the shoes, she shows how her feet were too big. But the shoes actually fit Jeong-hui perfectly.

How did the episode end?

The episode ended on a very sweet note where Jeong-hui finally realised that her worries about her husband loving another woman were never really true. Dong-sik always loved her and even made special shoes for her so that her feet would not get hurt. After having some moments together, Dong-sik asks Yi-rang to set him free because he is finally happy after seeing his wife smile. When he was asked what he remembered, he replied that he remembered his wife, who meant everything to him.

Did Yi-rang confess his love for Na-hyun?

There was a moment, towards the very end of this episode, where there was a chance for Yi-rang to finally confess how he felt to Na-hyun. However, before that could happen, the stage gets set for the next episode.

What worked, and what did not work?

The message of this episode was very touching, and the romance aspect was very heartwarming. One truly believes in the love story between Dong-sik and Jeong-hui, and when they finally resolve their misunderstandings, it feels elevating.

However, the twist was very predictable.
