Pete Davidson is fully embracing fatherhood after he and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt welcomed a baby girl in December 2025. The comedian was spotted at the Amazon MGM Studios CinemaCon 2026 presentation on April 15 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where he was promoting his upcoming film “How to Rob a Bank.” Despite being well into a years-long tattoo removal journey, Davidson debuted a new tattoo on the side of his face in honor of his and Hewitt’s baby girl, Scottie.
The subtle tribute features Scottie’s name inked vertically along the left side of his face, between his beard and his ear. The sweet gesture from the new father has drawn widespread media attention. The couple named their daughter Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson. Scottie is named after Davidson’s late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Rose is Hewitt’s middle name.
Speaking with People, Davidson said he is thoroughly enjoying fatherhood. “Dad life is (…) awesome,” he said. “It is exhausting and rewarding and cute. And I’m very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can’t stress enough how lucky I am.”
Davidson has also spoken openly about the fierce protective instincts that emerged after Scottie’s birth. The SNL veteran told People he has been surprised by what he described as “primal” instincts. “It’s funny. It’s like I didn’t understand this. You’re just ready to fight anyone,” he said. “It’s like, chill out. No one’s doing anything to your kid … But you have this overly protective like … if one paparazzi guy pops out I’m going to (…) beat (…) him. So that’s a weird gear because I’m not a fighter guy.”
Davidson told Variety in 2025 that he began the tattoo removal process during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and estimated it would take him another 10 years to complete. His arms, hands and neck are largely clear, but his torso and back remain. He has already spent nearly $200,000 on the process and says he is only about 30% done.
Davidson has attributed his decision to get tattooed in the first place to low self-esteem and a desire to conceal himself. He told Variety: “I used to be [an addict], and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up. So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain. When I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder.”
