Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 6 Recap
The episode opens with the actors fully engrossed in their roles, and the way the scene is shot makes it feel like we’re right there in the audience. We are introduced to the cast, and the story unfolds, centred around a man whose fate is altered by acquiring a single sword. Taiki plays the hero, Blade, who defeats Kana’s character, Tsurugi, and claims the sword for himself.
Tsurugi then joins Blade on his quest, vowing to help him conquer all of Japan. As they progress, they gain allies, including Kizami, portrayed by Melt. Within the play, these characters prepare for a showdown with the Shibuya onis, the main antagonists of the series. But alongside the play’s narrative, we also see Melt’s journey as an actor unfold.

Melt’s big moment comes when his character has to face a former ally, Monme, who has now sided with the Shibuya onis. This role is played by Sakuya, with whom Melt has a personal rivalry. Despite Sakuya’s flawed personality and reputation as a womanizer, there’s no denying his acting skills. This puts pressure on Melt to match the performance of such a seasoned actor and prove his own abilities.
In the second half of the episode, we delve deeper into Melt’s character and his journey in the acting world.
Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 7 Review

The series delivered another peak episode, and I must admit things are going great here. It begins with the next act of the stage play, where now we will be witnessing the differences between Akane and Kana. This time we see the Shibuya onis finally coming to light and are informed about the impending battle between the Shibuya and the Shinjuku factions.
Inside the play, Aqua gets to face off against the hero himself while Kana runs off ahead and faces off with Akane, her natural enemy. This interaction between them was brilliantly executed as we finally see the root of their clash and why these two talented actresses cannot blend together. Apart from having very distinct personalities, they also have a history together that kind of set in motion their differences with each other.

Akane grew up admiring Kana and wanting to be like her. But when she finally met her idol, she realised how different her idol was from how she imagined her to be. There is also the fact that Kana has been completely beaten down by the adults around her, and the charm she once retained got lost when she grew up. But this time, Akane wants to drag her out into the spotlight and make her return to her old self so that they can finally stand together and fight like equals. However, what she doesn’t realise is that Kana’s wounds are still fresh, and her thought process is completely different from Akane’s own all-devouring one.
Kana is a great actress to work with because she acts according to the director and does what is best for the whole team rather than focusing on herself. Akane, on the other hand, seeks attention and wants to outshine everyone, like how Kana used to be before. Now, whether she manages to drag Kana out of her shell or not is something that you will have to witness yourself.

Verdict
Today’s episode was great, and I love the way this show is showcasing the live-action along with the personal problems of the actors. There is a scene in the middle where Kana is facing Akane, and the way it was timed was absolutely clever and goosebumps-inducing.
