Obi Wan Kenobi Trailer: Ewan McGregor Returns in His Iconic Role as the Jedi Master

It is May 4th, also popularly known as the Star Wars Day and, what better day than today to drop the Obi Wan Kenobi trailer, right? The trailer for the much-anticipated miniseries has prompted fans to rejoice as the show is not only going to mark the return of one but, two most iconic characters from the franchise. The upcoming series is written by Joby Harold and directed by Deborah Chow.

Serving as the bridging gap between the prequel and the original trilogy, audiences are going to Obi-Wan Kenobi after surviving Order 66 and in exile, watching over young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. However, is it safe with Darth Vader rising in power? Well, the Obi Wan Kenobi trailer says otherwise.

The trailer description for the upcoming series reads: “The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.” In the trailer, we see Obi-Wan keeping an eye on Luke from afar and, stressing to Owen Lars how the young Skywalker must be trained. But, soon enough is reminded of the fate that inhibits his previous apprentice.

We go on to see how there is a bounty on Kenobi’s head, which is the suggested reason why the Jedi Master went into exile. However, the most exciting part of the trailer is the ultimate tease to Hayden Christensen’s return as the Darth Vader.
