Netflix Limited Series Neymar The Perfect Chaos is, of course, about football sensation Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior. Widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, Neymar came into the football forefront at Santos. At just 17 years old, he made an impression playing for Santos FC. He joined Barcelona soon after 2012 and shone as their attacking trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Neymar then transferred to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a record €222 million. The player also plays for the Brazilian national team.

I sometimes wonder who series like these are for? I mean, obviously the fans. But the series, which boasts to expose the personal and professional lives of the highly controversial star player, is mostly to put Neymar Jr in the best light possible. I really do sometimes wonder whether we will ever have some mind-blowing truth exposed in documentaries like these. Alas, these are not made for such shocking revelations.

Neymar The Perfect Chaos is your run-of-the-mill documentary series on a controversial star who has a lot of bad things under his name. It tries to hide these facts, never really answers the most pressing questions that critics and fans might have and tries to paint a very clean and pretty picture to keep fans happy and, possibly, bury the negativity. Sure, it’s entertaining as heck and almost inspiring, but it doesn’t give us what we want – the truth.

Does our opinion matter though? Probably not, it’s not supposed to change any of our perspectives. That much is evident with the way Neymar The Perfect Chaos is created. Honestly, it’s more of a one-time fun watch to see how they went about with the documentary and the star-studded guests. But apart from that, this one doesn’t leave much of an impression, neither does it make us want to look into the football star’s life minutely.

Summing up: Neymar The Perfect Chaos

Neymar The Perfect Chaos

In the end, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos is superficial documentation of Neymar’s life with some really famous friends that only scratches the surface of the problems that is Neymar’s life but does little else to satiate the questions that one might have regarding the more controversial things in life or why he does what he does.

Neymar The Perfect Chaos is streaming on Netflix.
