Never Have I Ever Season 4 Review Contains No Spoilers
Never Have I Ever Season 4 picks up where Season 3 ended. Devi and Ben end up having sex. The duo is awkward, but still not sure about getting back together. Devi has to buckle up in high school as she wants to get into Princeton. Despite the academic pressure, Devi can’t help but wonder what her equation with Ben will be. To complicate things further, Paxton returns. Devi has a lot going on, from complicated relationships to friendships and the struggle to get into her dream university. So how will things end up for her? Well, you will get all the answers in the last episode.
From season 1 till now, Devi Vishwakumar has always been a messy teenager. Anything she does or says always has drastic consequences. She even got her romantic American dream of dating the hottest boy in her high school – Paxton. But even that dream didn’t last well. She lies a lot, that often hurt people around her. Even some people hurt her. But what I always liked about her is how she keeps going on.

In season 4, she says she is a messy person who can’t do anything right. She learns to accept herself, but the realisation comes after many screw-ups. You will be irked at her when she betrays one of her friends. But then, that’s who she has always been – extremely flawed and selfish.
Along with focusing on Devi’s love life, Never Have I Ever Season 4 on Netflix also focuses on her friends Fabiola and Eleanor. The duo have dreams of making it big in the world of engineering (robotics) and acting. We see how they find their path to achieve their goals. Along with Devi, Eleanor’s complicated relationship with Trent is also a part of the narrative. There also comes a time when the friends betray each other for a boy and the university dreams.
I also liked how Ben’s character growth is shown. He has always been my favourite from season 1. His confusion about what he wants and what he doesn’t makes sense. After all, just like Devi, even though he is a teenager with lots of pressure and expectations from his parents, giving his best in everything. In one scene, Ben tells Devi why they shouldn’t be together. It was much better than the break-up talk Paxton had with Devi in the previous season.

Netflix’s Never Have I Ever 4 sheds light on how difficult college life is and how tough it is to step into the outside world from the comfort of your house. It also highlights that there’s no age barrier to finding love again. You will enjoy Devi’s grandmother Nirmala’s cute little love story.
The series perfectly blends comedy and emotions to keep us entertained throughout. John McEnroe’s narration keeps you engrossed and makes you chuckle even in serious/embarrassing situations. The last 2 episodes are high on emotions. The flashback scenes between Devi and her father can make anyone cry.
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is remarkable as a confused and deeply flawed teenager who cannot control her emotions. Devi’s character development is admirable, and Maitreyi’s charm and performance make us fall in love with her all over again. Ramona Young and Lee Rodriguez play a pivotal roles in the series as Eleanor and Fab. It was good to watch their struggles and journey.

Jaren Lewison makes Ben quite desirable, fun and sometimes annoying. The actor is amazing throughout, and his chemistry with Maitreyi is intense. Actors Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Ranjita Chakravarty, Darren Barnett and others play their parts well.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Review: Final Thoughts
Overall, Never Have I Ever Season 4 is a must-watch. It’s a wholesome and cutesy conclusion to Devi’s love story. The ending also marks the beginning of more exciting things in her and other people’s life.
