My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 20 Review The Feminine Wrath

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 19 Recap

It opens with the heroes facing a crushing defeat at the hands of the villains. Deku is doing everything he can to keep Tomura in check, but all of his efforts could unravel if All For One joins the battle, which is what happens when Hawks and the others can no longer hold him back.

To make matters worse, there’s currently no one capable of standing up to All For One. While Shoto might be a contender, he’s injured, and Dabi is quickly becoming an even more dangerous threat. Dabi has gone completely berserk, intending to not only take down his father and himself but also destroy the entire surrounding area by detonating his own body. Given the circumstances, Shoto’s priority is to contain Dabi before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, Dabi’s imminent threat is dangerously close to the safe zone where the rest of the Todoroki family resides. This leads to a fiery confrontation between father and son, witnessed by their mother, who has long been passive about her husband’s harsh treatment of their children. Rei finally realizes that she needs to be present in this critical moment with Toya, her eldest. But she’s not alone; her other two children join her, and the entire Todoroki family comes together, confronting their unresolved issues.

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 20 Review The Feminine Wrath

This episode had a lot more emotional connotations that will surely make you appreciate the characters. Here, we mostly focus on the turmoil-filled relationship between Toga and Ochako. Toga is utilising her Sad Man’s Death Parade to immobilise everyone in her vicinity and attack without any mercy. Not only that, but after realising that Dabi might be dead, Toga understands that she lost another one of her friends, and this drives her to the edge.

She doesn’t want to listen to anyone and just plans to kill all the heroes who intend to hurt her. But there is one girl who will do everything in her power to have a genuine talk with Toga, and that is none other than Ochaco. In this entire episode, Ochaco tries her best to make Toga listen to her pleas and convince her to change her ways of villainy. Ochaco understands that Toga is not evil by nature and is not someone who is irredeemable. Yes, it’s true that whatever she has done till now has not been good, but at the same time, Toga, too, had suffered.

To prove that fact, we are shown some very heartbreaking past memories of Toga where we witness how she was badly treated even by her own family. No one accepted her for the way she was and viewed her habit of drinking the blood of the ones she loved as perverted. She was labelled insane at a very young age, and everyone treated her like a mad woman.

Perhaps Ochaco thought that if there had been at least one person who accepted Toga, she might not have turned into a villain. If Ochaco were to meet a younger Toga, then she could have become her friend and offered her blood without any question. And perhaps Toga needed that kind of acceptance in her life to finally be free from her anguish. But is acceptance enough to stop a raging villainess set on taking revenge at all costs?

Verdict

Today’s episode was really good as we saw the dilemma between two women who finally come to terms with their emotions. Toga just wanted to be a normal girl who would have genuine friends and a love life. But that kind of normalcy was not given to her as she was avoided by the society.
