My Demon Episode 5 Recap
After saving Do-hee, Gu-won quickly takes her back to her house with a displeasing expression. He then does not even regard her and leaves her without listening to her. This is because he is genuinely falling for her and is in denial about it. Somewhere else, Bok-gyu is talking with Ga-young, and they discuss how Gu-won has been single for 200 years and has not looked at anyone in that time frame. Ga-young is obviously jealous, and she even cuts herself with her blunt sword while performing.

In her house, Do-hee angrily thinks about what she has done to get such a cold response from Gu-won and decides to confront him. She goes to his office and tries to grab the special book on demons. But that is when Gu-won comes in front of her and asks her what is she doing there. Ga-young also snoops in on them and pretends to have a special connection with Gu-won in front of Do-hee. Gu-won, being agitated with himself, says harsh words to Do-hee, and she leaves, deciding she will not cling to him anymore.
Elsewhere, the killer puts a package in a locker for his mysterious employer, Abraxas, to have. Later, we see Do-kyung going to a doctor and beating him to death after he calls him insane. His father is in another meeting where he is trying to get the board members to vote for him for the position of acting chairman and threatens to expose them for accepting bribes if they do not. At his house, his wife thinks about the moment her mother-in-law died, making us suspicious of all three of them. We also see the one hiring the killer using the lighter that Do-kyung previously used.
At the office, Gu-won and Do-hee try to ignore each other, but Gu-won is pissed because of it. Fearing about his master’s mood, Bok-gyu also comes to investigate but gets beaten in the process as Da-jeong thinks he is the killer. In the board meeting, everyone elects Seok-min as the acting chairman.

Soo-an tries to instigate a fight with Do-hee there but fails to provoke her. Here, Gu-won gets jealous when Do-hee and Seok-hoon talk about business. They discuss how there has been financial fraud in the company, and they will have to go to the bottom of this.
Do-hee, seeing no progress with the investigation and witnessing how she can’t prove fraud within the company, decides to get married as soon as possible. She then goes on a date with the guy she was supposed to meet in the beginning. He is weird and lecherous, but Do-hee still resolves to marry him, infuriating Gu-won.
Gu-won takes Do-hee to the gangster who is trying to kill him and threatens him to search for Do-hee’s killer. Seeing him almost stab the gangster, Do-hee stops him and asks him what is his problem. Gu-won then loses his cool, blames everything happening on Do-hee, and leaves her when she tells him not to be her bodyguard anymore. Later, at her house, Do-hee gets attacked by the killer and almost falls to her death, but Gu-won comes to save her.

My Demon Episode 5 Review

Finally, we are seeing some sort of reciprocation from Gu-won. He is not at all willing to accept that he fancies Do-hee and is trying to play the blame game, but I like how he is easing up himself and becomes more protective of her. The mystery is also thickening, and now we have three prime suspects who can potentially become the villain here.
All in all, this was another very entertaining and great watch that will surely make me wait for the next episode.
