Moving In With Malaika Episode 5 Review: Malaika Gets Up-close and Personal with Karan Johar

Moving in With Malaika Episode 5 premiered on December 12, 2022, with a runtime of 20 minutes. The brand new reality show will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyan Chaiyan from the movie Dil Se.. along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL SET TO SHOWCASE HER TRUE SELF, MALAIKA WILL SHUT DOWN TROLLS IN HER QUINTESSENTIAL ARORA STYLE AS SHE OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE

-Moving In With Malaika Episode 5 Review Contains No Spoilers-

The episode starts with Malaika changing her look to a trendy new hair colour. She goes to the salon with her friend, who introduces her to the owner and hairdresser. A short step-by-step montage of the entire process is shown to the audience.

Later during the day, Malaika’s long-time friend in the industry, director and owner of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar, comes over to her place. She is pleasantly surprised to meet her confidante and instantly starts sharing the events of her day. With light-hearted teasing and gossip, both celebrities get immersed in the conversation.

Malaika was looking very comfortable, unlike any other day. She was less uptight, and she momentarily let go of her sophisticated side. Karan is known for being extremely good at making people feel at home, as we have noticed in his talk show.

Honestly, it felt like another episode of Koffee with Karan for the entirety of 20 minutes. He takes over the show instantly and starts to ask personal questions, which will leave the viewers laughing at the awkwardness. He also asks the right questions that the viewers have been wondering about for a very long time.

Their conversation went very smoothly, even though the questions were extremely unexpected. They also talked about friends and family with which the audience will relate. The viewers will see a side of Malaika that she has rarely ever displayed on the television.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 5: Final Thoughts

The new episode of the reality show felt more like a talk show hosted by Karan Johar. But it was still more enjoyable than the previous ones. Malaika was seen in a more comfortable setting, and the aura was also positive. Karan was able to bring out her real self, which is commendable.

Even then, we barely got to see anything substantial. There was no new revelation but just a few known facts about the celebrity that was spoken about. A few uncomfortable and intrusive jokes are made, which will be funny to some and annoying to most. Nonetheless, the fans will enjoy watching the best friends duo on-screen together.
