Moving In With Malaika Episode 15 Review: The Forced Sibling Drama is Not Working

Moving in With Malaika Episode 15 premiered on December 28, 2022, with a runtime of approximately 22 minutes. The brand new reality show will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyyan Chaiyyan from the movie Dil Se along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL SET TO SHOWCASE HER TRUE SELF, MALAIKA WILL SHUT DOWN TROLLS IN HER QUINTESSENTIAL ARORA STYLE AS SHE OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE

Moving In With Malaika Episode 15: Sister Act

The episode starts with the Arora siblings going on a lunch date while vacationing in Goa. They were having fun in each other’s company even though some tension between them could still be sensed. Malaika also ends up accepting a dare from Amrita, leading to the entire room of people receiving free drinks.

Things soon went downhill when Malaika “lost” her phone and could not find it anywhere. The atmosphere of the entire episode altered into a negative one when the celebrity lost her cool over a trivial matter. In a span of five minutes, the relationship of the sisters, which they worked to build, turned sour again.

Witnessing a grown woman acting like a spoiled teenager was extremely uncomfortable and awkward. The sophisticated image of Malaika has been slipping with each episode in the name of drama. The argument over a phone is so minor that it should be embarrassing for them to air it on a platform for everyone to watch.

Nevertheless, yet again, the sisters made up like nothing had ever happened. Amrita is left complaining about how her older sister treats her, and Malaika is again seen defending herself without an apology. After a short conversation, the evening ends on that note.

The next morning as they sat down to start planning activities of the day, they encountered a surprise visit from a close friend. Dino Morea suddenly appears at their doorstep, and the episode ends.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 15: Final Thoughts

The creators have constantly been trying to create drama since the first episode and have been miserably failing at it. The forced drama over trivial matters among siblings is unnecessary, yet they keep piling onto it. The incidents are laughable and not entertaining in the slightest. Even as short as 20 minutes felt like too much to endure.

The same incident dragged until the fifteenth episode, which is bound to drive the audience away. It is bland and not interesting. The attempt to make it exciting is not working; quite evidently, the show is scripted throughout. The reality series also failed to connect with the viewers.
