Mission Yozakura Family Episode 13 was more informative and had a much more serious tone than usual. Let’s review how the episode unfolded and discuss the specifics.
Mission Yozakura Family Overview Episode 12 Recap
Today’s episode was heartwarming, introducing new characters with special ties to the Yozakura family. It begins with a young woman saving a severely injured man. The scene then shifts to Taiyo discovering a strange man in his bag, who surprisingly greets Taiyo as his new grandfather.

The man is Ban, the patriarch of the Yozakura family. Recently released from jail, Ban is eccentric, flirtatious, and very supportive. He quickly bonds with Taiyo and takes him to a bar. However, his playful demeanour shifts to nostalgia as he reminisces about his late wife, revealing his deep love and longing for her. This touching moment underscores Taiyo’s own appreciation for his wife. Inspired by Ban’s reflections, Taiyo admits that his marriage has brought him immense happiness.
The episode then transitions to a humorous segment, showcasing the Yozakura family’s outing to a unique mall where spies, assassins, and killers can purchase mission supplies. This mix of sentimentality and comedy highlights the show’s ability to balance emotional depth with lighthearted fun, leaving viewers eager for more.
Mission Yozakura Family Episode 13 Review

Today’s episode tells more about the secrets behind the death of Taiyo’s family. Here, we see that Taiyo dreams about the days when he was still happy and riding the car with his brother, mother and father. Then, everything falls apart as they get into the accident, and only Taiyo manages to survive. But was it really an accident, or there was something else to play?
Later, we see that Shion was able to decode the optical storage device that Taiyo got. And oddly enough, it was the guest list of the wedding reception of the ninth Yozakura family head. In other words, it was the wedding of Mutsumi’s parents. On this guest list, there are names of the Asano couple, aka Taiyo’s parents.
This is very suspicious, as this means that the Asano’s already knew the Yozakura family from the past. It is possible that Taiyo’s parents might have been the victims of the spy world. To get more information about this, Taiyo decides to go to the Library of the Dead, which falls under the Spy Association. You can get any kind of information here, but there is a catch, you will have to save yourself from the wrath of the very dangerous librarian.

In this episode, Taiyo finds many things and becomes one step closer to the main villains of this series. The name Tanpopo comes up, and I am pretty sure they are the ones who not only caused the death of the Asano but also the Yozakura parents. It seems like it is an extremely dangerous organisation that is after Mutsumi for her very special DNA.
Apparently, she has something called Somenine, which makes her a very valuable asset. It is a protein in blood that can have great effects on human physicality, making them invincible. Thus, Mutsumi’s blood can act as a doping agent for others.

Verdict
Today’s episode was better than usual as we got more information about the actual antagonists of the series. It was less comical and more serious, which I appreciated for a change. We are finally entering into the segment where we will get to know about what has actually happened to the family members of the protagonists, and it is indeed very exciting.
