The first-ever service challenge of season 15 took place in the 8th episode with special guests Chef Sashi Cheliah and Chef Matt Sinclair. Both professionals won a MasterChef Australia season and, in the present day, are the owners of successful restaurants. For today’s challenge, three contestants who are still recovering from Covid-19 weren’t present. But apart from them, the remaining contestants came in with Malissa on the gantry since she has been selected for the immunity pin challenge.
The judges made the contestants pick one coloured apron randomly and segregated them into two teams. Then Sashi was set to mentor the blue team while Matt Sinclair aided the green team. The judges announced the day’s challenge that each team must present an Entree and a main dish using one of the hidden ingredients beneath the cloth.

They announced that as soon as the cloth is removed the timer will also tick off. The moment came, and both teams rushed to pick their ingredient. The green team chose pork for the main meal and eggplant for the Entree. The blue team chose fish to make the main course and cucumber as their Entree ingredient.
The green and blue teams went to their respective places to discuss what they’re going to prepare. The contestants seemed extremely nervous because this is their first service challenge, and those who fail to win won’t go to the immunity pin challenge. The mentors gave their input and kept checking the contestants’ performance.
When the contestants missed out on certain aspects, like slicing the fish, the mentors demonstrated. This helped the contestants to learn and also actively repair the mess they’ve made. As the clock kept ticking, the guests started to arrive. Somehow right on time, both teams prepared their dishes and started plating.

The judges tasted the blue team’s Entree made out of prawns, yoghurt, and cucumber. They loved it and gave positive feedback. When the green team’s Entree made of eggplant came in, it also received positive comments. The main dish arrived, and the blue team prepared yellow fish curry with cumin rice. The judges were amazed by it and termed it perfection. However, on tasting the pork dish of the green team, the judges felt that the portions weren’t equal and the balance was off.
After hearing the judges’ feedback, the viewers would easily guess that the blue team has won. The judges gave their opinions and announced the team of Sashi as winners who will be joining Malissa for the immunity pin challenge.
MasterChef Australia Season 15 Episode 8 Review: Final Thoughts

The episode was heated, and the pressure was felt via the screen. The contestants were perplexed as instructions kept coming from the nook and corner. Serving 30 people and trying to please them all isn’t an easy task, so the contestants really sweated out. Fortunately, both the team’s dishes came out well, but it is the blue team’s preparation that stole the hearts.
