MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 56 Review: Dogs and Truffle Hunt

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 56 is called ‘Truffle Hunt Immunity Challenge’. Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo, invited the Top 5 contestants – Billie, Dan, Julie, Keyma and Sarah. They are outdoors in Deloraine and have to cook with Truffles to win the immunity. One contestant with the best dish will be safe from tomorrow’s Pressure Test elimination.

The synopsis reads, “The final five visit Deloraine for a truffle hunt! They’ll then use the black diamonds they dug out of the ground to cook the most delicious dish.”

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 56 Recap Contains Spoilers

In MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 56, the Top 5 contestants meet Anna, who has a Truffle farm. The contestants are in awe of Anna’s dogs. The dogs will help them to find the truffles. The dogs help every contestant dig a truffle from the ground, which will be used for cooking. Dan gets the biggest piece of truffle. Keyma is worried as she has never cooked with the mushroom before.

The judges inform the contestants that they all have 60 minutes to cook a delicious dish. Billie decides to make a dessert inspired by the truffle. Julie uses quail to make a truffle dish which makes the judges excited. Keyma plans to use truffles in a Cachapas dish. She had cooked Cachapas long ago in the competition. She wants to use the truffle to elevate her dish.

Dan uses a huge piece of cabbage for his big chunk of truffle. Sarah incorporates potatoes with her truffle. However, she fails to get the desired texture for her dish. After 60 minutes, the judges taste the dish cooked by the Top 5 contestants.

Andy, Mel and Jock love Keyma’s dish, Flavours of Cachapas and Truffles. They also like Billie’s desert -Truffle Icecream with Chocolate Truffle and Chocolate Soil. Dan cooks Truggle Cabbage with Truffle and Gruyere Bechamel. The judges love his dish too. However, they tell him that the cook on the cabbage could’ve been better.

Sarah’s Potato Truffle dish is tasty, but the texture isn’t up to the mark. Julie cooks Truffle Stuffed Quail with Celeriac and Truffle Puree. Her dish looked impressive but wasn’t as good as expected. In the end, the judges announce that Keyma cooked the best dish and will be safe from the Pressure Test in the next MasterChef Australia Season 14 episode.

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 56 Review: Final Thoughts

MasterChef Australia episodes that are shot outdoor are always fun to watch. I am glad the judges saved Keyma from the Pressure Test challenge because her dish looked delicious. She cooked with an ingredient she wasn’t aware of, without any flaws.
